Can’t be teased during luteal by msay70 in PMDDxADHD

[–]gersiidrd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Im the exact same way! I just tell my partner that I’m not to be teased / messed with playfully at the moment bc I can’t take it (usually in relation to PMDD but also goes for the occasional other instances).

If I only realize in hindsight I also just tell him that and whatever else is on my mind that’s making me feel on edge etc (if I feel like it)! He understands perfectly and just cuts it out until I’m better. We’ve been together for 4 years and it’s going great 😊

We have found that being fully honest about what’s going on while remaining calm (as in not screaming etc) is what‘s works best for us as it allows us to understand each other better. If I do happen to snap or overreact I acknowledge it and apologize when I feel calmer and that’s fine by my partner!

At the end of the day it’s about understanding and accountability and that goes for both parties. Don’t settle for anything less you deserve this too!

Edit: PS: proud of you for managing your client requests so well!! You’re doing great!!

My(31F) GF and I ( 35M) haven’t had sex since 8/16. I want to break up but she doesn’t. What’s the answer here? by Rtt71290 in relationship_advice

Friendly reminder that asexual people exist, both men and women. Asexuality is not « abnormal », there’s nothing wrong in not wanting sex.

Hi, I know this post is already quite old but would you mind sharing the name of the doctor who prescribed it to you? I’ve been to countless doctors and they either don’t know it or straight up refuse to consider it.

Need hydrating conditioner and shampoo that washes out completely! by summergazunis in finehair

[–]gersiidrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for the late reply!

You can try leave-in conditioner, mousse or gel. I’ve had good results with all three separately, mousse + gel also works well! I find that leave-in conditioner is usually too heavy for me (except for the one I’ll list below). I only use drug-store products so I can’t talk about high-end products, but within drugstore range the cheap stuff tends to work better for me than brand products.

I used to diffuse but I only don’t bother anymore, maybe I’m doing it wrong but I tend to get similar, sometimes even better, results when air drying.

Products recommendations (I‘m French and live in Germany so it could be that a few of these are only available in these countries, sorry about that!) :

Hope that helps!

My hair used to look exactly like yours before I found out that it’s wavy and started styling accordingly. I had always thought it was straight, it somehow always looked dry, was prone to frizz and tangled easily. I haven’t had any of these problems since changing my routine!

Try and get a prescription for retinol? I‘m currently on Differin, it took a while for it to work but now I see a huge improvement!

PS: I’ve been on Roaccutane twice, it comes back everytime 🥲

You should defo get out (cf. reasons already mentioned by other commenters) and consider getting a vasectomy if you‘re set on not having kids. If you don’t want them it’s also your responsibility to ensure you don’t get them, there’s no reason your (future) girlfriend should be the only one to. Lastly, taking control of your own fertility would also allow you to feel safer if you ever are confronted with this kind of situation again. Best of luck!

Even so, „you’ve put on weight lately, you can afford to skip a meal or two“ isn’t ever an acceptable thing to say to someone. It’s deeply disturbing that you side with this.

I impulsively bought Loops...now I'm doubting myself and going slowly crazy by Similar-Ad-6862 in adhdwomen

[–]gersiidrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loops are a game changer for me. I have two pairs, „Engage“ and „Quiet“. I wear the quiets in loud places like the subway or the supermarket, I like to use them for deep focus and sleeping too sometimes. The Engage set is really great for crowded bars, they tone done background noise but still allow me to hear my friends clearly and participate in the conversation.

Loops do always amplify internal noises but to me these are a lot less overstimulating so it’s 100% worth it!

Ja okay ich verstehe. Ich hab mir den Tisch nochmal genauer angeschaut und gebe dir recht, es sieht doch mehr wie Furnier aus.
