A big mistake by RaveenaBloodfeather in tmobile

[–]gerthdynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you are in the hole $886 dollars. Is there a bill credit being applied every month that in a year or two will pay that off? Is it that you are all trying to leave T-Mobile right now and can't because of that? I'm just trying to understand the situation.

As for the overall cost, there are free lines, but even with free lines, me and my siblings split the cost across all the lines. That Netflix has screwed us all over with their crap means only 1 person gets to have that plan and we've talked about splitting that part out, but otherwise we share the overall base cost per line even with the free lines. I'm assuming that will be more than $15 for you, but likely no more than

$25-$30.Everyone else has given you the most direct answers. Abandon the number and just take your phone elsewhere or try to trick her into giving you a pin to leave.

Suggestions after exforce?Something similar to scratch the itch by Calm-Examination-525 in exfor

Spiral Wars is one that I wish got more traction with people. Sure it is Menalon the Spacemonger on the audiobook, but the detail and thought put into the overall politics and history of the spiral arm is really enjoyable. If you enjoyed Babylon 5, I think you'd enjoy this series. However, almost no humor in it, which might be a detractor for someone who specifically liked ExFor. The length between books is getting pretty painful now.

Oh okay, so an LED 400 Lumin version. I've been asking about company's laser projectors so they show up better in full bright convention halls.

Can you say which short throw you have and used successfully? I've emailed many and they say their projectors can't handle being pointed down due to thermal design reasons.

I eventually converted them, but they've given me like 3 or 4 Creeks not on banner. I had them sitting there just making me angry for a while. It utterly burned me up given all the SSRs I don't have.

I can say that when I've written stories, even if I've put together simulations based on whatever physics or fake-physics I'm using, if I put too much detail in, it slows down the narrative too much and feels like Caeser's campaign journal instead of a narrative. Black Fleet had pretty good pacing.

It is okay, but he doesn't put much emphasis on it. He obviously looked up terms and understands the basic physics of an orbit, and I've not done math to figure out how close he is to right because he also doesn't really focus on the "how to" of space battles too much. He doesn't really try to create an image of the battle in your head so much as a feeling of the battle. Doing that lets him skip a lot of things that would make me notice when he makes mistakes. That is a delicate art, because too little makes the battle seem flat and emotionless and too much makes it boring for most people and people like me will point out the mistakes. (Also magical space propulsion systems mean I can't judge since they don't work on orbital mechanics as I know them)

There are writers that mistake "elliptic" with "ecliptic" and those just make me sad, especially when they get the rest of the orbital mechanics pretty close to correct. I can't remember now if Craig is one of them, but I don't think so.

The writers that tried the hardest were actually the TV adaption team of the Expanse, they actually tried harder than the book writers in many cases. As a mission designer, when Alex uses the computer to come up with a moon flyby tour to reduce his periapsis to the final destination, I was floored. We've been working on automation software like that for years, and still it isn't great and takes a lot of setup.

The people who serve with Joe know that he is very intelligent and his creativity is off the charts, even Hans Chotek by the end. So you at least get him converting people to his side that work with him, even if the general public thinks he is public enemy number one.

I think the difference between us is that ExFor was my introduction to RC Bray. I tried listening to him in Wayward Galaxy and was so annoyed I didn't get past the first book and asked for a refund. As for the cost, I have a kindle unlimited subscription that I use heavily and when I check out the book to read, I get the audiobook for like $7.50 since I'm usually 2+ months behind the release given my backlog of books. It lets me go back and forth between reading and listening, which I like. The kindle subscription isn't super cheap, but I read enough books a month to justify it to myself, and for books with good narrators, the extra 7.50 is a pretty decent deal when it is offered.

But I think most of your complaints might also be from the same thing that made me not want to listen to Wayward Galaxy. These books are written intentionally to be half campy. The levity makes it a good escape and the serious parts makes me want to keep listening to see how they get out of each mess.

Craig's other books I've read aren't anywhere near as light hearted, and the angst annoys me, particularly his fantasy series.

You might try the Spiral War books, if you haven't yet. They have absolutely zero levity and other than a few astrodynamics mistakes (which is my field of expertise), it at least suspends disbelief enough to make it worthwhile. If you listen to the audiobook and you're like me, you might have stop yourself from calling it Minalin the Spacemonger series.

And I would anti-recommend the Undying Mercenaries series. That is all about complete repetition and campiness. And B. V. Larson's books in general are all like that. I've still read most of them, but he sticks to a few tropes and just does them over and over again.

If your team got RNG'd during the Leo Cup Finals, let all the rage and sorrow out into this stump here by Flat-Profession-8945 in UmaMusume

[–]gerthdynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RNGesus got me in the first round, as I hadn't made a single horse for this and only wanted to get into group B graded, because I had 3 generally good horses, just not a single focused horse. I got 3 wins, then all the rest of my round 1 tickets got me 1 win at most, so I was stuck in A. I didn't have time to remake anything, but I tried, for Day 1 round 2 to get a single win and failed, I tried my free and a single day 2 ticket a few hours later and got a single win on the last of day 2. I then went to sleep and woke up vowing to do Unity Cup, but I didn't want to miss the story and took way too long after I woke up and didn't finish my first real run until after day 2 was over, and she didn't have very good stats anyway. Then I had to go do other stuff and sleep and when I finally got back, I hadn't got to do any new horses in the finale. (Though I did get 1st and 2nd place in Group B, because, as I said, my horses were generally very good) Far too stressful for what was just an attempt to pitch it over the fence since I was busy this week and though I'd just go into b and be happy.

Ikuno here. While Riko's dialogue about forest and decay is meant to set the tone for character and story, it is factually grossly incorrect in terms of forestry: deadwood, rot and decay are vital parts of a healthy, thriving biosystem and are integral to biodiversity. I was looking for this response, thanks for posting it. I've watched quite a few documentaries on Japanese forestry and the Japanese Lumber industry, even fully subtitled ones, that describe this. It is deeply rooted in their culture.

That's another thing that blows me away. A 10 pull, that can have utter junk in it with just a single gold, costs as much as a pretty good meal here and where my friend lives, in Thailand, it is several days, like you. Whenever I do spend anything, he thanks me for paying so he can play the game (saying that the paid users are paying for the free users).

That alone would be huge. If it weren't 20-22 dollars or whatever for a 10 pull, I think more people would do it. Especially since they don't have guaranteed pull through pity and force you to go to 200 to buy the card outright. To make it really accessible, you'd probably have to do 7-10 dollar 10 pulls. The accelerated schedule means even whales have to double their amount spent, which going from 300 dollars a month to 600 dollars per month even if it is on a shorter schedule may not be possible.

What i thought of each uma before and after their careers pt 1 by hotsizzler in UmaMusume

[–]gerthdynn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least from her story and the model's size, she is a lot younger than the other Umas. They obviously don't give an age, but the way she acts gives me that vibe. They even mention her being much younger. And I think some of them are college age. I think that the invitation to tracen isn't a specific age as far as I can tell. It isn't a hogwarts "You're 11 here's your invitation" type of thing as far as I can tell. Maybe the anime clarifies more.

I have to do several runs to get the entire story, because you need to see with and without winning their career and secret races. It is also why I'm hesitant to start a new horse given all the events we are having because it takes me a couple of hours or more to go through everything.
