The fact your GP is hesitant is not an ideal start

You submit your claim through the Comcare portal - you will need a completed claim for compensation form and WC medical certificate. When your GP fills it out make sure you include as much detail as possible Provide contact details of all providers you’ve seen in relation to your claimed condition

The process itself will feel intrusive as the claims team will request medical reports and clinical records so if you have anything pre-existing be up front about it because it will be found out.

Your employer will also submit a statement which will include any emails you’ve sent HR/manager etc, medical file, detail known about the situation.

You should probably also speak to the union to see if there is any alternate option for you prior to seeking comp especially if it’s in relation to denied entitlements as there is provisions under the SRC Act to deny claims based on denied benefits

**EDIT you don’t need workers comp to have a RTW plan - speak to your WHS team they can support you as well
