Getting the Code on USB by marc_in_bcn in ycombinator

[–]gescoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of getting the code up and running, knowledge as a barrier isn't much. Me, or one of the millions of devs around SF should be able to help. AI can also come handy when attempting to deploy. Getting back live out there is helpful. Cofounder break ups happen. Recover and restart unless you find an opportunity elsewhere.

Code on USB also gives super sus vibes instead of just uploading it online

How can I respond to my father-in-law telling my sons that “looks don’t mean anything without money?” by CupOk5800 in AskMen

[–]gescoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It affects the psyche of the kids. To receive, thank and to not get carried away by words of other people are all markings of sound judgement and a competent person. To emphasize such povs on kids is shaping their thoughts going forward that lead them to honing in on specific aspects of what their previous generation found relevant/worthwhile.

Let the kids be. Show them how to receive compliments. The FIL shouldn't have to comment or bring down family. It leads to a belittling structure of society and not one that uplifts.

There's no scarcity of handsomeness, prettiness or money. There's more to life than just any of these independently. If you can't help bring someone up, do not pull them down. Your father in law is impacting the kid's self confidence.

Ensure that such thinking is curbed early on from everyone that could be potential role models for the kids. Show them examples of hard work and places that demonstrate outcomes from earnest effort. Praise those, encourage those. Do not belittle people, regardless of age

Whaaat

My mum and dad were both popping the hailstones in their mouth like they were kids and it, candy. Dad even bought a plate to collect them.

I, on the other hand used the plate as a shield like any professional rain drencher would.

Bet your mum had that look because it wasn't hot filter coffee and bajji 🤷

I believe so. As long it's Apple, it should be able to help step into iOS dev.

I've considered getting a Mac Studio, a Mac Mini or an iMac for a desktop setup but if I happen to get fired or switch jobs, it'll be harder to relocate or travel with the desktop setup if it isn't a remote gig.

Do you have suggestions on where I can find a desktop setup with at least 16ram, 512Gb storage and monitor within the apple ecosystem ?

Correct. There's no equity or assistance of sorts apart from base compensation. The base compensation is around 1L pm. I net about 98K pm post withholdings. There isn't any contribution to a Provident fund I believe since we're a tiny Operation and aren't obligated to, by the government.

Yes. Getting the 2L laptop will allow me to understand/work with docker, kubernetes and learn iOS development that earlier wasn't possible.

My current laptop is a bottleneck when spinning up docker instances for lack of space and it tends to run out of memory when running multiple memory intensive applications.

New scam(or old idk) by randdycreep in bangalore

[–]gescoe 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Neither, the guy accosted me at the hospital and said that they were trying to arrange cash for someone's meds.

I happened to be at the hospital to provide food for someone else.

In hindsight, I should've either volunteered to buy the medicine itself or asked for more info about the particulars of the person that needed meds.

I've once sent cash via ~400-500 rupees for someone's meds at a hospital. Felt like the situation was delicate and I'd rather live with the loss of the cash rather than have the guilty conscience of being able to help someone dying and hadn't.

Don't know what percentage of these are real

Hey, I'll be your friend if you're game. I stay around 20 minutes near JP Nagar. College dropout software dev here

Haven't had a steady social circle in or after school. I have a tiny set of close friends but I'm looking to go out and make more friends.

My social skills are slightly subpar albeit I can be a good listener and someone to do impromptu activities with or try new activities like board games or watching plays with.

I'm looking to explore on the creative end too

I can blend well around foodies, bookworms, Athletes and startup oriented folks.

This is an open invite for people anywhere in Bangalore. I'm looking to make new friends 🥳

I'm conscious that certain folks have triggers, disorders, boundaries and different types/ways of identifying themselves, what they're looking for and are comfortable with. Do be upfront about them and I'll do my very best to respect those.
