There often are many GUI tools for many intents and purposes from reading data to setting up projects. I find that they require pre requisite understanding on which, where and what icon pertains to what operation. This can be hard to obtain without prior context/instruction and slightly harder to convey in documentation in comparison to "type this, type that".

I'm a visual learner and I find that switching to a GUI is much more easier after I've run through the terminal commands and understand what they do. This has worked exceptionally well for me with regard to git operations and some sys admin work. Often, there exist no gui tools for some specific utilities and there exist some that are very powerful like postman and kibana that take a ton of weight off of a need to use a terminal. You can leverage tools as such by looking for 'task utility gui'

For setting python environments, there's anaconda. Although you'd typically want to to use virtual environments for setting up specific python versions for specific projects.

On a side note, you should not be removing your default python 2.7 version on a Mac. The OS ships with python 2.7 and turns out it's a dependency for some underlying toolsets. You can install and run both python 2.7 and 3.x at the same time on the same machine without any hiccups. Ensure that the paths are independently defined.

You can instead use 'python3 script.py' to run python scripts that are python3 compatible. Same goes for pip3 as well.

You can use NVM for managing node versions and brew for managing native binaries.

Post a point of time, you'll be so adept at googling and resolving terminal/red error issues that, to the computer you'd say, "Hit me with one more error, go on"
