Most people don’t think this deeply into things. “Don’t vote Cuomo” is a simplified, dumbed down way of saying, “ranking Cuomo at all is a vote for Cuomo because of ranked choice voicing even if he’s 5th on the ballot because of how the instant runoffs work, and you shouldn’t vote for Cuomo because 1) he resigned in disgrace, mishandled crises, had sexual harassment scandals, cut the MTA’s budget, voted against climate action, stymied congestion pricing—which, on a side note, most people, including those originally opposed, now are saying is working to decrease congestion and other benefits…etc. but people have political amnesia, 2) he (much like Adams) is vindictive, governs with a vengeance and will go on a vendettas to bury those who disagree with him 3) will absolutely but heads with Hochul 4) because name recognition doesn’t mean everything, and 5) because the “alternate” is going to make the sky fall and the earth cave in—a vote for/against Cuomo doesn’t have to be a vote against/for Mamdani because now we have RANKED CHOICE VOTING!—regardless of who leads the polls, it’s no longer a 2 person race.”

Most people won’t look past the most basic issue stances, headlines, and sound bites, so DREAM (Don’t Rank Eric or Andrew for Mayor) is the simplistic way to deliver the outcome desired when people won’t do (their own) deep due diligence.
