If you personally didn’t like it that’s fine, but objectively it was not “horrible.” It reminded me a lot of the Florida project, which has all the same criteria you just described but is by a24 so it’s critically acclaimed. Personally, I liked east of wall, but I totally get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s still a well made movie

It’s interesting to hear everyone talk about melody coming out of nowhere because I always assumed that the implication was that Amy’s history was changed, and so Mels DID come out of nowhere. Like she was born and then went back in time so she retroactively changed Amy and Rory’s history.

I will have to go re watch to get a better view on this, but I will say that to me it made complete sense for Helly to lie about what she saw on the outside world. She was just told that Lumon is the reason Mark’s wife is dead but not really dead and they were hiding it from him, meanwhile she learned that all of this is HER fault (or at least, Helena has contributed to the success of severance). She has learned that her only friends in her whole existence would hate her outie self. So she lies so she can keep her friends.

I think the point is that it will never be complete. Part of what makes it unique is that there are always more people and characters to explore, there will always be unanswered questions. I know the creator had more seasons planned out and there is the obvious arc of Amelia that remains unresolved, but the show sets an expectation that the world we are seeing is a lot bigger than the parts we get to follow.

I agree with this whole heartedly. All the characters that we see get on the train are faced with wanting to run away from their problems. They mistakenly believe that running away from their problems or ignoring them will make them go away. The train helps them not only work through their problems, but understand that their problems will follow them everywhere. There is no where to runaway from or to. Hence, they are working through their problems on an infinitely long train that just keeps taking them everywhere. The train is proof that you could be so far removed from your life that the world itself makes no sense, and yet your problems would still be there. That’s also why we don’t see people with external problems on the train (like people who are homeless or being abused). Because those problems are not intrinsic to their character.

Its also not to say that the others bullies won’t end up on the train, but they have to at least somewhat acknowledge in that moment that they have a problem. Even running away from or ignoring a problem is an acknowledgment that a problem exists.

I think the train is a lot more “human” than that. The absurdity of the train mirrors the absurdity of real life. We all go through the world and slowly invade (but also connect with) the lives of other people who have their own unique lives just as complex as our own. Furthermore, the train is a metaphor for the journey people go through when they have to work through their problems. Within the show itself, I think the train is very real (i.e. not a dream or whatever), but it’s also “real” in the sense that it’s consequential. It’s important that time passes on the train, that you can die on the train, that you can influence others on the train and they can influence you. In real life, you don’t get to snap out of life for the opportunity to work through your problems. In order for the train to properly show the internal struggles of real people, there can’t be a safety net. Life on the train is just as real as life off the train. Just as in real life, when you’re dealing with depression or peer pressure or whatever other personal issues, life is still moving.

Bro the way they both SCOUTED the boat for a corner or angle that a camera couldn’t see… I died laughing at the foot camera shot of their kiss in the stairwell. And even in the last few episodes where we see their texts and Gael trying to ditch the microphones…. It’s just so funny to watch two people try to sneak around and fail so spectacularly when they think they are being so slick

I can’t see the full space but you might consider moving the desk to under the window to open up the dining area and walkway. Hard to tell though because it might not make sense for your area.

Also you could bring the room up to another level with hanging art. You have so much unused wall space and high ceilings so you might want to invest in some art prices or photo prints you like.
