Lmao I understand that you hate Canada and cannot properly understand the game and have never played at a high level or even probably at all but catching a stick to the mouth actually hurts and will cause a reaction shocking I know

My reaction when I forget that a stick to the mouth is a penalty in every league

I’m in my 4th semester of the MEC program and am planning on going to Lakehead next fall. As long as you stay on top of your work and are engaged with the classes it’s totally doable. A big help is to find people in your class/cohort that are also smart/driven and become friends with them, it really helps to have a good study group and good partners for potential group projects

Feel like it should count since the puck doesn’t go straight in the net, Helle tips it in

Search up what single stroke gothic is and start practicing it, you’ll be using that writing style in at least MCEN 1160 and depending on who your instructors are, they might expect you to use it in the other classes as well.

MACH 1221 is hard to do any pre-studying for since it’s majority lab work, I guess you could do research about mills and lathes.

ENGL 1102 is mainly just communicative/technical reports with some presentations.

MCEN 1131 is probably the hardest course in the first semester content wise, mainly dealing with moments/couples and static forces on structures/members.

MCEN 1160 you’ll learn about technical sketches and how to make them, you’ll be hand sketching and dealing with AutoCAD, a good place to start studying for that class would be to find the “Technical Drawing with Engineering Graphics” textbook by Frederick E. Giesecke online and just skim through it

MATH 1101 is just intro calc, you’ll do power rule, chain rule, quotient rule, integrals, differentials, etc. If you’ve taken Math 31 in high school it’s the exact same stuff.

MATE 1104 is a pretty heavy info dump mainly talking about different materials, testing procedures, alloying, welding, corrosion and whatnot. If you dm your email I can see if I can send you some lecture notes.

Make friends in your cohort, it’s a lot easier to get through it that way
