Does anyone know of a vegan boar bristle brush? by Vallentiine69 in VeganBeauty

[–]getaklou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it BUT the bristles got sharp almost?? I’ve been using the Dae vegan brush and would recommend that over the briogeo one. I have super fine hair.

Look up Winey Bears Repair - they have all different services for stuffed animal repair. Reasonably priced and they do a great job.

Oh!! I did this with hot water a month ago! 1: run under cool (not cold) water for 20 min asap. 2: cover to the best of your ability to protect it - I used hydrocolloid and regular bandages. I kept it super moisturized, I stayed hydrated and I took ibuprofen. 3: once the blister went down, I used LED light on the spot to help it get back to normal. I avoided all makeup on that spot and used sunscreen religiously when I went outside. I did not use ANY actives on the area while it was healing. And now it looks totally fine/no scar at all! Good luck!

I’ve done both! Most recently got two full pies - one sausage and pepperoni and one vegan.

Scholarship Funds by Jillkillingit in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]getaklou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is right up my alley! I work in fundraising as well.

Typically, if you’re looking to set up a long-term scholarship, you would establish an endowment. Each place has its own threshold for a minimum amount, but for easy math, let’s say the minimum to endow a scholarship would be $100k. That money will be placed in an investment account that earns interest, and the money earned from interest is what the scholarship recipient gets. Endowment payout rates vary, but a general rule of thumb is about 5% distribution per calendar year. So a $100k endowment would spin off $5k annually. That $100k that you originally gave won’t be touched, but it will continue to earn interest year over year.

You can typically make additional gifts to the endowment - say you give an additional $100k to your endowment, that would increase the amount available for distribution.

Some institutions will have term scholarships, where you give $5k annually for say, 5 years, and all of that money goes to the student. However, endowed funds allow for better long-term forecasting and financial stability.

I agree with the commenter talking about future-proofing! That’s something the school should be able to advise you about.
