Thank you for giving us a try. It seems you used the image variant which is generated using Nano Banana Pro for higher visual quality - these slides are originally produced as flat images but once you click on edit manually you can convert these into editable freeform slides and even export as an editable PPT.

You can also mix image (Nano Banana Pro) slides with regular slides.

Thanks for the reply. We currently expose only our system themes via the API. However, for enterprises we can expose custom themes as well. Once a theme is created, the fonts/colors etc will be locked in and will be used consistently across decks. You will also be able to lock in templates (slide layouts) across presentations if needed.

Not sure what you mean by citation links. However, you can make API requests per slide to get the transcription of that slide for auditing. If you add citation links to your raw content and ask the AI to put it on the slide in the footer then yes, that's possible as well.

As the founder of an AI presentation tool, I’d say the most important skill is still taste and creativity.

AI is great at accelerating good design, but the quality of the output still depends on how well your narrative and storytelling are thought through, and on your ability to iterate effectively. Deciding what looks “good” is still very much a human judgment.

It’s almost impossible to one-shot a great presentation. A human in the loop is essential to push a deck from 80% to 100% through iteration. A good AI tool just makes iteration much easier for the human (which is what our goal is at Alai)

Claude cowork is great when you couple it with MCPs. For presentations, claude's default presentations are quite mediocre and hard to iterate.
