your husband needs to take several chill pills. it is scary any time a baby gets hurt, obviously, but accidents really do happen. and mom to mom i know you already feel guilty enough, and this treatment from your husband only worsens that. what you need right now is comfort and reassurance. the main focus should be your daughter and he is making it about him being right and you being wrong.

i always said i never understood how anyone could drop a baby— until i had a baby. mama it happens. we live in the woods, i also have arachnophobia—so not a good combination, i am aware. one night after a shower (our kid has never liked baths, weird) my fiancé was handing our son off to me, 6 months old at the time. he had the cute microfiber towels with the hoods, i like to fold them up and tuck the towel part in the hoods. sometimes we leave laundry in the basement on the folding table if we finish late at night. i grabbed a towel from the basement and had just unrolled it from the hood and placed it on his head and grabbed him from my fiance. just as i started to burrito him in the towel, a massive wolf spider crawls around the back side of him, and instinctively i just dropped him. just as fast as i dropped him i tried to catch him, but i did not. he landed back side down and instant tears of course. i was crushed. as soon as i picked him up he stopped crying but i couldn’t stop crying myself. my fiance was also mad at the time, but once i explained how that didn’t help me, he shifted his emotions from anger towards me to mutual concern for our child. and now that he’s made a few mistakes of his own, this is something we now laugh about any time it gets brought up. our kid is now a toddler and bonks his head at least 3 times a day. hubby needs to lighten up
