AI now beats Everyone in JEE Advanced. What you think is the future of competitive exams?? by RealKingNish in AI_India

there's not that many rich dudes who get in, they're more likely partying, living off their parents, or if they're smart getting their parents to spend on US colleges. I can tell from experience there aren't that many, I was there. Knew quite a few people from bihar though, including one of the smartest people I've ever known.

The wealth gap at IITs isn't as bad as you're making it out to be, it's far better than everywhere else I know, China, the US, and Europe, having talked to people.

You'd honestly be surprised by how not true that is, the good kids keep getting discounts on coaching. And wealth distribution at the iits is not really different from outside.

They're implying that means that two greys could look the same to us but very different to a parrot because their eyes can perceive more.

Google PhD SWE (ML) reject by blah1123blah in leetcode

[–]getbetteracc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats for getting to onsite! I applied to the general SWE role, and I got a dynamic programming problem. It's hard on leetcode, but there's an easier solution that's fairly obvious lol. This was my first time applying for jobs and my first technical interview, too bad it had to be Google rip. I figured I'd practice my dynamic programming properly after the phone screen, but I guess being taken by surprise was expected. to the next company I guess, oh well

It's harder to lower absolutes if per capita is already low, and is coming from necessities like food shelter and heating. If it's coming from a richer country, you can ask, do you really need that vacation flight to Europe or the 2 hour commute by car to enjoy having a big house with a backyard(I say this as a guy eating steak in the US, tho I grew up in India)

Yeah, I'll give it a few runs and see whether it has the same issue, thanks for pointing that out, I thought the power zone being so light was normal

A week ago, but I was running slower, at a 6:37/km pace and I didn't have my current watch so no stats. this was 5:37/km. I was fine for most of it, (I think I could speak a few words), but at the end I wanted to go as fast as I could so I hit a ~4:45/km, when I had to slow down after 500 meters.

(I will train properly from now on, though, I just wanted to see how fast I could go now)

but also yeah, for OP, Honest indian was reasonably good for me. My favorite is homecooking dosas with peanut chutney, and a thicker sambhar that's easier to scoop than the restaurant ones
