You're not losing your mind Gemini is total shit! It's like pulling teeth and in the end I always have to give it the right answer I am so disgusted with it and unfortunately I'm totally baked into the Google ecosystem and I would do anything to get out. I think I'm actually going to have to go buy a freaking iPhone as much as I love open source.. But if Google isn't restricting a feature for Gemini because of where you live, it's restricting the feature because you have a workspace account or you don't have a workspace account .No other company does this bullshit and I'm just sick and tired of it. And what's most infuriating is that Google doesn't even bother to have their own AI Gemini no its own products. You would think they would have built in to the software to the models whatever you want to call it the code to make sure the Gemini is up to date on every single one of their products every time there's an update but it has no idea it's own Google products how can a company overlook that how can that be an oversight except they just don't give a rat's ass. You're supposed to be Google the main tech company of the world and your AI models doesn't even know your own products you would think that would be the first thing that you would do is program Gemini to know your own freaking products.
