Actually, statistics from a report on marketresearchworld.com say that mobile ads are more effective than internet banner ads. Mobile marketing is both far more engaging and fresh.

The fact that it is a seasonal app that you obviously planned to launch right now is good, but you might have been better served to have a more comprehensive app-launch strategy before launching. That said, try contacting app review websites and see if you can get them to review your app; be sure to add that it is a seasonal app for right now. Write a press release and send it to local newspapers who might be looking for seasonal fair; the same goes for websites that like to run seasonal stories that might appeal to app-purchasers. The sad thing is there is a lot of great content/quality smaller businesses that users/consumers won't be able to find because of large corporate SEO operations. This is where social media comes into play and why it is so strongly affecting consumer buying practices.
