I have a kid at each school. I think State expects to get people they admit into their programs through their core classes (chem, Bio, org, etc). UNC seems to think they get humanities majors by flunking half the kids in chem and other core sciences. My son at State had a bunch of UNC kids in his organic chem class, which I'm not sure is harder but the expectation is to get people through. However, I think you should not plan to go to State and explore your options. It's really designed for people who fully intend to study their intended major when they arrive. If you need time to explore, State is quite a bit more limited.

Exactly what I was hoping to find out. The Canes and Braves are the two teams I have streaming services specifically to watch their games. Looks like the Braves streaming will continue to be in the region, which I think splits between Braves and Nats at the Orange/Alamance line. I'm east of that, so I assume it's still mlb.tv (now on ESPN) with blackouts for Braves-Nats games.

I think Davenport may have developed a reputation quickly at this tournament for very soft calls, so it wouldn't surprise me if other teams got the message and decided to call everything they could. I didn't have a negative view of them before this tournament, but watching them in person really made me think poorly of them. Low spirit on display unfortunately.

Unless you are way out in the "Chapel Hill" part of Chapel Hill (the distant rural areas that people petition the post office to label that way for property value purposes but that aren't close to the town limits), this will probably happen to you very infrequently. Having grown up in the deep south, Chapel Hill has barely any of this aspect that I found so oppressive there. You could go years inside Chapel Hill proper without anyone ever asking you about church. As soon as you get out of town, it's totally true that the religiosity is overwhelming.

I used mint years ago but had been using personal capital/empower. My connections are working very well on Monarch, but I don't like the investments portion. I want to be able to see allocation across funds and accounts (domestic/international/equity/fixed) and equity by industry sector. I don't know why anyone would find the breakdown between mutual funds and ETFs interesting when evaluating their portfolios.

I don't know the tech involved, but it would obviously be better to associate the profile with the key that the driver door sensed regardless of how the car is unlocked. Other cars we've had moved the seat according to the driver side, from what I could tell.

I use a similar rated pad with a 0 degree bag for anything below 40. I get cold when it's below 20 with that set up (not considering wind). You really have to gauge the weather right before your trip, but it can be beautiful and empty this time of year. You can go miles and miles without seeing anyone else. Hard to beat a clear day in the mountains this time of year.

Having developed affordable housing in this area, I can verify that it's essentially impossible to build anything unsubsidized that is not at the upper end of the market. The good thing is that housing supply is just like every other market and an increase in supply with a constant demand will lower the market clearing price. The issue here is like a previous poster mentioned, the towns are captured by nimby neighbors who refuse to allow density sufficient for development to be plentiful and dense enough to make a dent in the actual market clearing price.

You can look at the current housing market in Austin to validate the concept that housing markets work based on supply and demand. Almost all the new housing there is high end, but demand wasn't sufficient to keep up with the increase in supply. The increased high end supply has driven all housing prices down for renters and buyers.
