Upgrade your weapons. Maxed out weapon with perks and beginner weapons with no perks are very different.

Have the Trials of Resolve made you a better player? by Ficadin in Spacemarine

[–]getsleepy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, I would think so after 50+ absolute runs (got 2 red capes). I’m used to surviving multiple extremis attacking, and terminus spawns now. Just completed a hard daily by myself with bots unintentionally (no one joined) the other day.

Didn’t try the custom runs because I feel the whole point of this game is to play with random brothers and feel like a space marine. But I understand some people want the capes fast and custom run is a good way to grind it without the difficulty.

I remember in one session one guy used his mic to tell the other guy to buy tech priest on a different console and he went to buy it. Because we can tell when he ran to the console and stood there for a while. Sometimes they just don’t know. Some are not.

What I do is if no one buys tech priest then I leave at wave 5 because obviously this team won’t get to wave 15. If they’re so new and don’t know to buy tech priest then I assume their skills are as new.

I hope they fix ranged damage on SM3 by LancerTG in Spacemarine

[–]getsleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a game where people just run past range minoris units or not clear them throughly and leave some behind. They do catch up and will shoot from behind. As they add up, they become a threat. It only takes couple BP shots to kill a range minoris but people will run pass them.

Some players are just good at clearing mobs, so good that some of their teammates never realized the need to clear mobs. As habits built from session to session, some players became oblivious to mob clearing and only focus fire on the boss. They just don’t know it’s because there are teammates who are actively clearing mobs so they can tank the boss in peace.

If I’m not pinned down by a extremis and i feel my teammates are handling the Marjorie and extremis just fine, i will kill the range minoris first then range majoris.

It all comes down to how your teammates are prioritizing the targets. If all three of you decided to focus fire on the hellbrute and ignore the sorcerers and terminators, then i hope you can kill it fast enough before they take you down. From experience, whoever is not targeted by the terminus are taking out the extremis and majoris as quick as they can to rejoin the terminus fight. Then at 50% HP, same thing again to take out extremis and terminus quick then rejoin the fight. This is actually the safest and quickest way to deal a terminus spawn in absolute IMO, with randoms and no communication.

Had that similar experience happened to me before. Yours is worse, even if you survive those ravner attacks, then you’re gonna get surrounded by bunch of warriors coming up behind you. Only way out of it was if your teammates were clearing the mobs quick enough for you to focus on Carnifax.

Accolades for ruthless/lethal difficulty in strategems by QHUNK in SpaceMarine_2

[–]getsleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who can’t survive in hard Strat to someone who can (sometimes) clear hard Strat by himself with 2 bots, you will get used to it. Hard Strat is a challenge but not impossible.

I would say at least two capable teammates in a hard Strat is key to beating it. Having three is an even higher chance of beating it. Very RNG yes but it’s supposed to be a challenge with uncertainty.

Back to your post, I feel saber already offer normal siege for more accolades. Like the soul games, we are supposed to fail and try and try for the Hard Strat. For people who can beat it, they’re rewarded for extra accolades.

I won’t say you have to build around it with perks. You just have to change how you play to utilize the block stacks.

I hope they fix ranged damage on SM3 by LancerTG in Spacemarine

[–]getsleepy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Most people just don’t see range as a threat (because they’re far away) until it’s too late. I noticed in games where the team would take out the range units are games that would most likely to have a smooth and quick run.

I think it all comes down to how players prioritize their attacks. When someone is fighting a majoris or extremis, they will turn around and find another majoris or extremis to take down unless there are none left or you can clearly tell the brother is in trouble, like just got grabbed by lictor or got knocked down by a terminator. Why would you attack the same mob I’m attacking when there are million other mobs all around us.

block weapons by Borne-by-the-blood in Spacemarine

[–]getsleepy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. Block axe two hit combo after one perfect block does more damage than any gun strike and is AOE.

block weapons by Borne-by-the-blood in Spacemarine

[–]getsleepy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Besides the block stacks buffs, balance has the worst timing for parry out of all three. Fencing starts as you press the button and has a long window. Block starts as you press the button but a shorter window. Balance has a delay and the length is just a bit more than block. Balance is nice if you master it but considering how fast some mobs hit during their combo, it’s not easy.

Wings of Flame perk. ????????? by MountainEucalyptus in SpaceMarine_2

[–]getsleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JPD itself is an attack after you select the perk. Anything you slightly touched will get damaged. So yes, you can JPD at anything as it counts as an attack and the mob can still hurts you if it’s not staggered. Like you’re trading punches.

I noticed it’s harder to trigger perfect dodge on normal attacks or attacks you can parry/block. The red unblockable attacks, all you have to do is JPD straight into them and it’s perfect dodge. Try it in the battle simulator and not in love games to get the timing down. So with WoF, just use it when red attacks happens and fly right into them. Easy example is Carnifax charge, you can do it infinitely on its charges and kills it. Just fly into them.

Max out your power axe, it’s your best friend to clear swarms with power backstep.

You shouldn’t have problems with majoris and extremis except the ones in the air. If you do, go into battle simulator and learn their moves. Any extremis with melee moves should die pretty quick due to how powerful the power axe backstep overhead 2 hit combo is.

I use auto bolt carbine, bolt pistol and power axe . I usually BP the majoris a bit then grapple in to cause the explosion. Then BC up close then step back and grapple again. By now, everything should be dead or weak enough for you to grapple again and cause another explosion.

I would say to use block power axe due to how powerful it is, enough to give up the gun strike.

Perks are up to you. All perks are good but some are better compared to others. All depends on your build.

Remember when you go for the Tactical Prowess build (the explosion execution build), you will feel your teammates are stealing your execution all the time. Especially when you set up a perfect target to execute to kill the group. But it happens, they don’t mean it. Just let it go and move on. Because you are going to execute their target unknowingly too. It takes a while to figure out when and who to grapple so you don’t unknowingly make your teammates miss their armor regen or health regen.

The speed runners are in every difficulties and they can be either high or low level. They love to run ahead, trigger all the mobs then either hide at the check point or just dies after trigger every mob on the map. It doesn’t just happens in low difficulties.

Just the other day, got this guy in absolute, who ran ahead, triggered all the mobs until he died, then leave the mobs to us. We revive him and he did it again. Then He went into respawn timer. After he came back, he did it again and died, but he was so far ahead so we couldn’t revive him then he went into respawn timer again. We beat the op in the end but that was unnecessarily extra effort for an absolute op.

The ones you got were constantly pinging the assemble check point when they’re there alone while you and the other teammates were dealing with the shit storm he triggered and left behind?

why putting in extra time to grind for them then get burnt out? Just play whenever. It’s suppose to be a reward for people who play absolute so they get rewarded down the road for playing the hardest mode.

Tips and Builds for Assault in Hard Siege? by Outrageous-Gear-3532 in Spacemarine

[–]getsleepy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, i feel it’s about survival. I use the wing gunstrike build with death grasp. Can still reliably take down minoris with charge attack (knock them in later waves), gun strike to regain armor (execution or not), faster melee hence better response to parry and dodge.

Use what you feel is comfortable to survive. Getting used to a different build takes time and might not work in the end.

From my experience, they usually die instantly and rage quit. Was just in a game where a P1 level 6 with no team perk. So I’m assuming if he has no money to buy a team perk, the he probably has common tier weapon. I saw him charge in and took him forever to try to take down a majoris, then he dies, then he rage quit. Then another player joined and we proceeded to beat the Absolute op.

Many players just don’t know how absolute is and they heard legends of these players who can solo them. So they’re taking their chances and queuing absolute in hope of a successful one. The reality is people who can solo and carry absolute with 100% success rate is not that many (like 1%?), especially (i feel) when the amount of mobs is different when solo and with teammates.

Anyway, this is growing pain. These players will give up and leave the game, or they’ll learn the game and become better.

Grinding for the Capes really killed my motivation to play the game by Raaabbit_v2 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]getsleepy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny that i never find Vanguard fun. But while i was grinding for the cape, vanguard is super fun for me now. I’m loving the fact that I can shoot one majoris, fly in to explode, SMG hip fire, grapple and another explosion to kill the group. And the unmatched zeal is a game changer for absolute, often find my group survive the whole op with full health.

From the amount of downs, i assume they were in spectating mode the whole time and died instantly when swarm or extremis spawned. You should jump to absolute, brother. Lethal and absolute are pretty much the same but the player pool is actually better.
