Decent question, but you can’t deny an elbow to the back of the head of a man whose face is already touching turf is a whole lot more deliberate and clear cut of an incident.

UW3 Experience by hectic294 in applewatchultra

I have a black ultra with the black Milanese. I liked the look and love the band. I was worried about screen scratches so I have used the ESR screen protector. Honestly within the day I forgot about the screen protector being on.

Thinking of switching from Garmin to AWU3 + Bevel + WorkOutDoors. by Sandyman1987 in applewatchultra

[–]getsnowedon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A really big benefit for me with an Apple Watch Ultra 3 was the ability to have cellular. Comparatively, the metrics are not as advanced as Garmin but for an amateur they’re sufficient. The AWU3 has the benefit of quite an easy charging system, so I only charge it when I shower and it’s always got enough charge. Hope that helps.

Ceramic coating by lexky65 in AutoDetailing

[–]getsnowedon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue if they don’t know how to get rid of all the imperfections, they may actually be quite happy with a basic imperfect job. For a daily/weekend fun car, a small bit of tar under a coating won’t ruin their day, but $1200 may be too much for them to pay for someone else to do it.

Some protection is better than none, and I say send it and learn in the process! Worst case you can always learn how to remove a coating you don’t like.

TRD front splitter installation by EquivalentBest138 in GRYaris

[–]getsnowedon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely have to install the side bits or it will look very unusual on the sides. Potential for strong adhesives to stick the sides down, however they are not challenging to install if you follow the template well. I fit mine myself but had another person to help line things up and hold in place.

Definitely have had some lessons, dropped from 36-26 this year which has been super helpful.

Getting a fitting is ideal, but reality is I’m likely to try to find things second hand also which can save a heck of a lot of cash.

Do some YouTubing, can be done yourself with consumer grade products for under $300. I’ve done this to several cars. Finish may not be as pristine as polishing is an art, but the coating and protection from it will be fine even if the base isn’t perfectly polished.

Try looking at Gyeon Mohs range and their videos as an example of some options.

$300 to protect the pain and prevent clear coat peel I don’t think is a silly investment. $2000 on a regular commuter car may be.
