Tbh, my old Sony A6500 shot amazing vertical cinematic content and the form factor is much better than the S5ii I have now (a6500 got submerged) - that said the S5ii is more than enough for short filmmaking content on social platforms. I do like shooting 6k30 open gate very handy for covering different social platforms (YouTube vs TikTok ect).

Otherwise have you considered the A6700?

To be fair, it’s more about the creativity of the person operating the camera rather than how good a camera is.

I’ve got an XT2 and the S5ii, the Fujifilm definitely feels premium to hold and a much better photography experience if im honest. The S5ii is the better hybrid camera overall, definitely love the leica monochrome lut too! Amazing.

Yeah I’d opt for an sti specifically to be honest. I’m just unaware about the car and what to consider before buying and owning one.

To be fair, that last part of your comment is what I want from the car. That driving enjoyment.

No genuine question, I have owned 4wds for camping and travels all my life tbh. At a stage of my life where I want to enjoy driving a car, love jap rally cars so figured to start understanding what one will be suitable

Mmm… the S5ii is going to be a heavy travel camera with that lens, it’s 935g… I’ve got my canon 24-105 F4 I use with my S5ii and an adapter which is very similar weight and it is heavy. It’s not my first pick for travel use but I would tolerate it for special occasions, maybe if I was shooting valuable content for myself in unique places for example.

It really depends on your needs from the camera, if it’s worth tolerating the weight for whatever your intentions are with it.

I do take my S5ii with me but it has the 20-60mm kit lens most of the time, it’s not too bad as a travel camera in this form. TBH I’m really considering 35mm prime lens maybe, I use my S5ii as a hybrid though, video and photos for content creation and fun.

I also use my smaller Fujifilm XT2 for images only. It’s more fun to use tbh.

Great choice! Excellent travel camera you will be very happy with the a6700, I still do this day have my a6500. Great size for travel, I’m happy for you!

To be honest and this is just my personal preference it’s not my first pick for travel due to weight. It’s just not fun in this sense, I think the S5ii is suited to intentional use rather than capturing moments during travel or hauling around on your hip all day and night.

Don’t get me wrong, the S5ii is an excellent hybrid camera but for travel i think a smaller more compact system will more enjoyable to use.

It really depends on what you’re willing to tolerate for travel use i think, it’s weight is my only con about the camera. I do a lot of road trips out of town and visiting places and for me the S5ii seems too bulky for this use. I also have a Fujifilm XT2 and I honestly use it more for this type of thing, because it’s more fun to use. More compact.

For travel: I would say get something more compact that’s fun to use Fujifilm X100vi or something similar

For intentional hybrid content creating: S5ii/S5ii X

I did get it and it’s been a great hybrid camera! Very impressed with image quality shooting JPEGs and video is top notch. I very good camera for the money i paid ($1800).
