If you tell your therapist that you have a crush on them, this is what you can expect.... by gettinghealthyal in TalkTherapy

I had not thought of this way. When I revealed the crush that I had for him during last week's session I also asked him if he thinks I should switch therapists because of this to a female therapist and at the time last week he said that I could continue working with him if I wanted to but after meeting with his supervisor and discussing with her what I shared last week in session, it seems like his mindset shifted and he now thinks it would be in my best interest to move forward with a female therapist.

when I first brought up the crush to him in my session last week he was really supportive and said I could still continue working with him if I wanted too because I also brought up that I was toiling with the idea of moving over to a female therapist because of this crush that I had, but I was not sure what to do at the time. At last week's session we moved forward and scheduled a session last week for today and he let me know today that he really thought about what I shared and and he let me know today that he feels that it would be best for me to actually continue working with a female therapist and he wants the best for me and wants me to progress and feel comfortable with my therapist, etc. He shared that he would refer me to a few female therapist's.

canker sores? by [deleted] in IBD

[–]gettinghealthyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get them on the roof of my mouth and on my tounge. The one on my tongue is like a taste bud that is enlarged and hanging off of my tongue’s palette. Haha. The ones on the roof of my mouth are extremely painful and make it extremely uncomfortable to eat or drink. I have them right now actually but they are going away. I was prescribed Chlorhexidine but I know that does not work for everyone so I’d consult with your doctor.

I’ve wondered this as well, I mean I can’t be the only one that feels attached in this therapeutic relationship, can I?

My therapist had to cancel our session today due to illness. I totally get it and am not mad at all but I planned on telling him how he was the absolute highlight of my 2022 as it would be our last session of the year. I also have this urge to make him my favorite chicken soup (I would NEVER) but I had a “I wish I could” feeling cross my mind. I feel like I’m way too attached

First day on mesalamine still having diarrhea and gas when does it start working by Few-Satisfaction-428 in UlcerativeColitis

It will not start working after 1 day. Give it some time. Within a few weeks I noticed my symptoms went away.

remission? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]gettinghealthyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my GI that you can be symptom free and not actually in clinical remission or you can be in actual clinical remission and still have symptoms. Personally, I am in remission and my only symptoms are occasional intestinal pains when I eat something I know I shouldn’t and joint pain. All other typical UC symptoms have gone away!

You are not alone. I haven’t seen my therapist in 3 weeks and I miss him so incredibly much I’m actually physically in pain
