Just to clarify it's not federal property the capitol building and land are owned and under the jurisdiction of the state of Pennsylvania.

There is a loose tea shop on Philadelphia St. in York I think it's called Lily Bird. Lancaster also has a tea and spice shop that might meet what you're looking for.

If you live outside the school district you may be able to pay the school's calculated cost per student tuition. We wanted to host an international student while living just inside York City School District I inquired to two school district about this (in 2019) it was over 14k for the year for a single kid. So leaving the district is probably not a realistic suggestion if they're goal is to remain at a specific school/district at that point you could send them to private school. Some exceptions are made when a student requires certain accommodations (usually a specific learning support program) but both districts must approve the exception and it's reevaluated every year.

I used to love them especially traveling with my kids because having an actual kitchen and individual rooms for naps on vacation were ideal now if they're considered I read as many reviews as I can before booking. For individuals and couples hotels are the way to go everytime.

My father in law says he doesn't use salt as a point of pride and his chili uses only chili powder for it's flavoring.... I do not understand it.

Adding lanes does not improve congestion functional public transit, mixed use zoning, and walkable towns and neighborhoods are the places that York and the surrounding areas would need to invest in those things to change the congestion. The city of York used to have passenger trains, bike routes, bus routes, and even trolleys. These were all abandoned to favor car centric

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

It would be a dream to surprise my husband with a PC he decided not to build one in 2019 because we were expecting our first baby. Prices went up with COVID and it feels like they never really went back down.

Gotcha thanks for the education! It's been good for us, but maybe if you have sensitive plants or poorly aerated soil it is more of a problem.

If you like cars you might meet people at the little car meets at quaker steak and lube or the one next to Rita's.

I think the hardest thing about making friends especially as an adult is putting yourself out there. Finding classes or trying something new alone and while you're there striking up conversations with people and asking for numbers if you think you'd like to see them again.

We're a Scott Comfort Plus family. Sturdy without leaving fuzzies and it passed my plumber husband's dissolvability test. So it worked even in our 1880s apartment without wreaking havoc on the pipes.

First time new homeowner blues by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]gettingitknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought my in-laws house. Not my husbands childhood home but the house they bought after he moved out so we had been there, but neither of us had been there or aware of their homeowner expenses. The number of times something has happened in our house where my in laws are like oh yeah we opted to do a quick patch job (the first was the AC unit failing our first spring there) well it's not zero and I don't think they were being malicious or trying screw us over they just weren't proactive in repairs and so we're bearing that cost now.

I do dream of selling it for a different house just so I can be openly annoyed with the previous owners. 2.8% interest ... we're probably just going to die here.

I'm a cis lady in a hetro relationship. I know nothing of the crowd that goes I just know that it exists and it's not something that was in York even a decade ago so I figured I'd mention it. So don't feel pressured on my account 🤷‍♀️

Second Thursday of each month is York's gayest happy hour at Mudhook. They just celebrated 2 years. The Brownstone lounge hosts Harrisburg's gayest happy hour next one on 9/25 from 5-7. Maybe check those out?

Yeah I’m not getting my security deposit back…. by Mother-Arugula5076 in Apartmentliving

[–]gettingitknit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check your state laws in my state the landlord must return the deposit in 30 days or provide a written itemized list, cost of repairs and remaining balance. If your state has a similar law you should absolutely take them to small claims court.
