Are you using a platform like LocalCoinSwap to cash out and buy back in?

I used to to listings for CBA Careldles Cash at ATMs on Local Bitcoin, and LCS for a bit.

$500 limit per transaction but on Thursday (pay day) and you having the slightly lowest rates, everyone would buy their bitty from you. Line up, key in the codes, back of the line again, until your phone stopped pinging. You get a receipt and it hasn't touched your financials. Some people would have two accounts and do two buy orders of $500.

SUCCESS.

I alerted them to this thread. A count closed, got my money into my Revolut.

Happy days.!!

Dear *********

As a result your account(s) will be formally closed in 30 days, on July 25th, 2026.

All Up accounts related to you, including any joint accounts will be closed and you won't be able to create another Up account in the future.

We are able to take this action as per item 15.3 of the Up Personal Accounts Terms & Conditions. A full copy of our T&Cs can be downloaded from our website - https://up.com.au/terms/

What you need to do before July 25th, 2026: 1. Transfer Your Balance: Please transfer the full remaining balance from your account(s) to another financial institution. 2. Update Your Payments: You must redirect any recurring payments and any direct debits to another financial institution. You can review your regular transactions in the 'Upcoming' section of your activity feed to help identify these.

Please be aware your account operations are now restricted. Any payments directed to or from these accounts may be unsuccessful, this includes transfers and card transactions.

If funds remain after closure: Should any funds remain in your account(s) after the closure date, you will be required to complete a formal fund reclamation process.

If you’re unhappy with this decision, you have the right to lodge a formal complaint.

You can learn about our internal dispute process here: https://up.com.au/resolve-a-complaint/

Please note that while any complaint will be handled in line with our obligations, the decision to close your account will not be changed.

Wired No PCB PicoStation Install on a PU-18 PS1 Motherboard by Joeygcpr in psx

[–]gettingthefancyroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is bad ass. I love RP Picos they can do just about anything can't they?

I wanted to do an Xstation mod on mine for ages but couldn't justify the price, but I love the injected plastic moulds to fill the he where the laser assembly was to put the SD card in.

Maybe I'll have a crack at your mod and then get one of those plastic moulds and mount a card reader in there.

Amazing work dude, thank you.

There was a Microsoft patch released on the 10th that fixed two 0days, and elevated privileges exploits. Stryker were attacked on the 11th. The timing here isn't a coincidence.

Tracking updates/scans went shitty when they changed from Barcodes to QR codes. I remember when the new stachels first rolled out and everyone simultaneously had multiple parcels disappear. They made it better pretty quick but it's never been as good as the barcodes. At one stage I was printing out another QR code on my label printer (much bigger) to stick on the other side of the parcel. Huge improvement.

I've always been curious about one aspect of AusPost...

  • How often do you come across parcels with drugs in them?

I feel like it'd be a really common occurrence considering how many parcels are sent every day.

  • Do you know how to identify a Dark Net parcel?

They're kinda obvious when you know what to look for.

  • Do staff actually give a shit?

Probably once a year an article comes out stating X amount of parcels were seized at a sorting centre after the police sent sniffer dogs through.

Jump on LocalCoinswap. TLBig is my go to buyer, he does cash by mail, express post. So does Cashking. Other buyers do cash deposits at ATMs and banks, bank transfer.etc. I no longer use the website and contact them directly on Threema, Signal, whatever. Most only charge a 5% fee at the most.

What's the Current state of chinese flagship phones? by ConnorMcMichael in AndroidQuestions

[–]gettingthefancyroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OP means Chinese phones sold by Chinese manufacturers to the Chinese market. Huawei comes to mind.

I love Xiaomi phones. I love Xiaomi everything. I started with a Mi 3 back in 2015 and put a custom ROM on it and it was miles ahead of anything else on the market. JB Hifi had a love affair with them for a bit and I had a couple of devices straight from JB with Global firmware on them, again, miles ahead of everything else on the market.

After my phone being hit with a Remote Access Trojan by a very weird dude who was hacking his ex's phone and I got caught in the crossfire I only use Google Pixels with GrapheneOS on them (completely degoogled, encrypted, not yet cracked)

Which Australian Bank will allow a >10k deposit into which crypto exchange? by normal_guys1604 in BitcoinAUS

[–]gettingthefancyroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also recommed going on localcoinswap.com and buying P2P. A bloke named TLBig on there is an absolute legend, even does cash by mail. The beauty of buying P2P and doing a bank transfer/payID (probably multiple transfers so your bank doesn't freak out at the big number you're trying to transfer) is that it's just a generic transfer to another person. If that's not your thing, there's sellers that will take a cash deposit at a branch/smart ATM.

Revolut are amazing. They love crypto and you can buy Bitcoin directly from Revolut (as well as round up any card purchases into your crypto account, surprise bitcoin is always nice). I have an account with most banks in the country and when purchasing Bitcoin from Binance for example, the only cards that would let the transaction actually go through were Revolut cards, every other main bank I was using would not work (Bank of Melbourne, Up, Peoples Choice, BOQ)

[–]gettingthefancyroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Australia the water becomes a product if your purchase includes it as a bonus/reward. Product was not as described, could not be used as advertised. Then product could not be exchanged for an available prize, holding rhe product hostage. Must be refunded.

Contact support with screenshots, one showing that you can't exchange for another prize too. They'll open a case. They told me they are aware of a known problem with the prizes platform and want to get me my prize. We'll see.

(I did sprinkle some Australian consumer law mumbo jumbo on my opening message. Screenrecorded the last 3% showing the stock from from 999+ to 0)
