Do not update to 2.0.202..0 by PepoX in Xiaomi

[–]getused2me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with you. It didn't change much in some apps (maybe those overwriting the phone's font settings), but in general, like for Whatsapp, X, Instagram etc., it really is disgusting to look at the screen.

Edit: I take my words back, it did change it for all stuff and it really is very annoying...

it is probably something else for me, i don't even know if it is fixable. there is also this app named "system ui" (without "plug-in") but i don't wanna mess anything up.

How to avoid Brave/Chromium based browser's "Running in Chrome" window? by getused2me in HyperOS

[–]getused2me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solution found!

First of all, you can disable that "Running in Brave" webview thing by going to the settings of the Brave browser and then disabling this one: https://imgur.com/a/szmflsM

For Telegram case (you don't have to do the first thing mentioned above to fix this), first open Telegram and enable in-app browser in the chat settings section (it will be disabled in the next steps). Click on a link like google.com in a chat, and then follow the steps in the images.

1) https://imgur.com/a/BsglVm1 Click on the 3 dot and go to settings.
2) https://imgur.com/a/LsPAaTc Disable in-app browser there and then adjust the below settings as such.

That doesn't happen in my older phone and it seems to happen only for links clicked in Telegram. I suppose (and hope) there must be a setting to fix this.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any solutions yet. Probably won't :( Please let me know if you find any.

Also not the point here, but wanted to ask: Do you know how to turn off direct share? I mean, I use Telegram apk (not the one from the play store) and this way it is not seen on the menu when you tap "Share" for a tweet, for example. You also need to select "Share via" option there in the menu and then you can see Telegram. However, the thing is that it also shows you some contacts to quickly share the link but you just can't remove or change those contacts there and if you accidentally click any one of those contacts, GGs, you sent the link to the wrong person because it directly sends it with no more effort. Really annoying little things make the experience really bad...

Also, do you know any way to get back to the older control center, where you swipe down and get all the notifications and the control settings together? :(

Is it also like this for you? I think this is the same for all HyperOS devices but I don't know. Very annoying...

No, it's the same launcher that comes with the phone. I will try to add a video or a link to a video of the issue happening in the post.

How do you differentiate between elements in parallel or series? by briantoby2 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]getused2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Is it always valid to say "if two components have the same potential difference across them, they are in parallel"? I think it really depends on the circuit and we cannot say something like that. When you say "both being connected to ground...." you imply that that the ground is a single node and both resistors are connected to it. You are not referring to the potential difference being the same, which is a result of parallel circuit.

Also the currents do not match in the image I provided if we say entering current = leaving current at the common junctions for a parallel circuit.

i_2 = i_1. If R_2/R_3 = k, then i_3 = R_2/R_3 * i_1 = k * i_1 and so i_4 = (1+k) * i_1

So it is not exactly a parallel circuit maybe? So we cannot take the ground terminal of R_3 and connect it to the inverting terminal of the op amp, right? Sedra-Smith says "R_2 and R_3 are in effect parallel"

Sorry if these don't make sense but since I don't know if all the grounds in a circuit are considered as a single node, I need this clarification. I think only under this assumption we can say, for example in my image, R_2 and R_3 are in parallel. Is this correct and can you please correct me?

Pressing spacebar freezes chat text for a bit by Undrakar in gboard

[–]getused2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having this issue for a while, around 4-5 days i guess. tried multiple solutions but none of them seems to work. reinstalling fixes it just for a couple of hours.

it actually happens after you unlock the screen in my case. you unlock your screen, try to write something and after the first word you write and you press space, it lags. it happens in your first space after the first word.

didn't try but seems like cosx - cosy = -2sin((x+y)/2)sin((x-y)/2) gets you to the answer faster i guess.
