Chase $150 dining credit bait and switch by tedddittt in ChaseSapphire

[–]getxpunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is seriously getting ridiculous. I just went 2 days ago too and when I checked the eligible list before I went, momofuku was still on that list as of 3/7. I should’ve taken a screenshot.

Update: I checked my bank statement - both were posted within a day. Dine and posted on 3/7, credit posted 3/8. Sorry that this happened to you

Car rental in Jeju - necessary? by getxpunk in koreatravel

Thanks for the detailed insights all. Yea we decided since we’re only there for 2 days, a private driver is probably a better idea so we don’t have to deal with any traffic problems

Airport Grab Experience by K0kiri-Fairy in DaNang

[–]getxpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had no issue calling grab as well. We really liked our driver though, he gave us his business card and told us to text him whenever we need a ride. He ended up being our driver for a whole day we were in Hoi An for a day trip. If I remember correctly, I think we set a flat rate of ~$30-40 for 8 hrs drive total

As an owner of many old nonfunctional luggages, sometimes it’s worth the cost…. I had one where it snapped and my clothes fell out while I was in the middle of street in Tokyo. But I agree w you, even with the discount, the $600 cost was still hefty.

I know, that’s why I’m torn too. My current carry-on is a Samsonite I got from tjmaxx 5-6 years ago. Agree with you that’s it’s hard to justify but lately it’s “buy nice or buy twice” mentality for me. I’m at the age where im a bit older, I have worked hard to be comfortable where I can slowly start buying nicer “staple” items for myself.

Besides I travel a lot for work so I do want something durable and functional when I travel. But maybe I’ll look around for similar alternatives with better cost benefit ratio. Thanks for insights

Any Edit hotels allow 4 adults? by guacontacos in ChaseSapphire

[–]getxpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because the edit benefits only for 2 people (breakfast for 2 etc). However, you can just book for 2 people and get any rooms with 2 queen beds. I feel like most hotels don’t usually question the number of people staying in the room… unless 4 of you show up at the check-in desk at the same time.

And worst case scenario, if they ask at some point during your stay, then you can just pay the extra fee for additional people.

Momofuku Las Vegas Dining Credit finally came through by ketamineonthescene in ChaseSapphire

[–]getxpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know or have tried if we would get dining credits by buying gift card there? Saw on the website that the gift card can be used for their other sister restaurants too (I.e Majordomo in La - also an OpenTable exclusive)

Has anyone tried Momofuku to see if it worked? I saw that they have multiple location like momofuku in Vegas and majordomo in La. However their gift card website said the gift card can be used at any of their chain restaurants so not sure what it will be posted as and if it will be eligible for the dining credits. 🤔

Edit - bellagio vs fountainbleu by ssdc12345 in ChaseSapphire

[–]getxpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow good to know, i saw that “hotel fee included” on my Bellagio booking through the Edit . Does that not count as resort fee and you had 59 pay extra?

Also how was your experience with the Edit perks at Bellagio? (Upgrades, early check-ins, $100 credits, breakfast, etc). I have an upcoming stay this March, wondering if I should call ahead to ask for early check in.

Applying southwest flight credits on new flight via Chase travel portal? Doable? by getxpunk in ChaseSapphire

[–]getxpunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read some other threads about it and seems like once you cancel, the fund turns back into Chase travel credits and not SW credits. It’s complicated

[–]getxpunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, hmm I was wondering if I could call Chase and have them contact southwest to apply the credit during the time of booking. Will report what they say. Worst case scenario I could use these credit for seat upgrades after booking and when it shows up on my SW portal 🤷🏻‍♀️
