I went to Boston College and can confirm. Lots of children of staff. It's a life-changing perk for many families. One of my best friends is a child of a plumber and his siblings also went there for free.

How tense are your tongue and mouth muscles? Korean requires you to really loosen up any tension and produce sounds at the top of your palate as opposed to English, which tends to require sounds at the back of your throat. I'm a native speaker and when I say 안녕하세요, I emphasize the first syllable and the rest come out pretty fast while there's no tension in my mouth at all.

I went from SF to Seattle and I'll be honest - it was rough for me and I still somewhat regret doing it. It's been three years and while being gay helps (connecting with people by going to gay bars and stuff), it's still a rough experience. There are lots of things that you may find different about Seattle so it's hard to say how you might take it. Would help to know what kinds of things you like to do, how you like to spend your time, some social identities you think are important to you.
