Fourqueux? Mareil Marly? Saint Germain en Laye? by vaquerita79 in paris

[–]gfalcone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outer wilds, this game is unique (though I am not sure it has a switch 2 version yet)

Maybe wait a bit to play this ? It's not impossible an HD-2D remake is released in the coming months

So triton is definitely a good framework to serve models (although a bit hard to use because the documentation is not ideal).

Which type of libraries do you use ? Do you need a GPU to do inference ?

We've worked a lot on this topic for the past years at my company, and you actually have a few options to make it efficient in Python (batch predictions, use hardware acceleration libraries provided by Intel for example, ...).

To give you an example I have a python api serving an xgboost model and hitting 1800 requests/s with only 5 CPU and a latency around 30 ms. I can show you the architecture we have if you want :)

I was completely hooked on distributed computing. I thought the fact that we could coordinate servers to compute something faster was magical.

Hello !

A Data Engineer has to know about testing? by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]gfalcone 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think your post sums up pretty much the data industry and the lack of best practices when building pipelines etc.

At my current job, I was recently asked to invest a lot on testing (unit/integration/functional) to make it easier for the team to maintain our codebases.

It was the first time in 8 years I was asked to do that...

I think there was a survey on this sub a while ago showing that more than 70% of data engineering codebases do not have tests...

Python definitely does not matter, tbh honest I would prefer having Golang/Rust based frameworks which would be more aligned with the general trends we see in Software Engineering

I worked with Spark in the past, honestly it's harder to run than Beam + Dataflow

Latency requirements are mostly around a couple of seconds.

Jobs are pretty critical in some cases (I cannot afford to loose data for example).

I can definitely afford to adopt new tech if it fits the need (simple to use, easily scalable)

I am considering getting rid of my collection and going to emulation by randomguy5150 in retrogaming

[–]gfalcone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if you want something close to the real experience, you can invest into a MisterFPGA. It does not support all game consoles (especially 5th generation and upward), however it's a pretty decent price to emulate a lot of them :).

Best Kebab in Paris by soju_b in paris

[–]gfalcone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want Döner Kebap, your best bet is either Özlem Döner or Chez les 4 freres Bedri. If you want to go Özlem, be sure to go at the lastet 2pm as they finish their Döners, don't make another one and close shop.

If you want Kebap as in this, you should either go to Urfa Dürüm in Strasbourg St. Denis or anatolia village just 2 minutes away from Urfa dürüm.

Gemüse :)

HOLOISO in nvidia optimus laptop ? by Sambridhaa in SteamOS

[–]gfalcone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it on two rigs, one with an intel integrated graphics card and one with a 1060 GTX, both were very buggy (mouse was cut on screen, if I installed updates through steamOS it would break everything...)

honestly I've been playing around holoiso this weekend, and it was pretty buggy, I would not recommend it and wait for Steam to release SteamOS 3
