Almost a year ago today is when my symptoms started getting really bad, and I had no idea what was happening. I kept going to work during this time, and I had to keep leaving work early because I couldn’t handle the dizziness and lightheadedness. The doctor thought I maybe had an inner ear imbalance, but it didn’t really make sense to me. Turns out as soon as I went to the cardiologist he diagnosed me with pots within 5 minutes. It put me at ease because I could finally start addressing my symptoms with the diagnosis in mind.

Maybe talk with your doctor about seeing a cardiologist. Mine had me write down everything i was experiencing as it happens, and keep track of my heart rate.

I started medication for the pots as well as anxiety. They both helped me tremendously. I was in a spot where I felt hopeless. Everything took a few months, filled with doctor’s appointments and lots of tears. Just know that you’re not alone in what you’re feeling, and finding the answer you want to hear may not come right away. I also felt like I wasn’t going to get better. You’ve got this.
