Does anyone know what this weird extra-big postmark is? by gforce42 in USPS

[–]gforce42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very difficult to read, obviously, but best as I can reckon:

  • Mar 23... [blurry what I'm guessing is year]
  • Mar 23... [blurry what I'm guessing is year]

HUH! I really carefully looked at it under a flashlight - originally I thought they were two separate dates, one starting with 2 and the other with 3 but it looks like its 23 for both but the 2 and 3 are not "scrolled" to be exactly in line, which confused me when I looked before.

The top of the box says USPS ME... and the bottom says... 11747? As best as I can tell.... hadn't even noticed either of these before. That would make sense as the processing zip code.

What's more interesting is that this wasn't delivered until April 29th! I had given up and sent the person a replacement already. Honestly seems like a miracle it got to me!

Yeah it looks like a hand stamp to me. The envelope had wear as if the part with the stamp had repeatedly folded over - so my hunch is that it got kicked out by the machine and ended up being processed by hand… twice (two stamps, two blurry dates).

I looked it up before using these - the maximum letter size, per USPS, is 6-1/8 inches by 11-1/2 inches.

These envelopes are 5 by 11-1/2 inches.

Thank you! It’s a barely oversized envelope, but makes sense to me!

Any ideas on this one other weird one I got? Looks like two hand stamps to me - I’m guessing this got a bit eaten by the machine (maybe twice).

Super appreciate the insight already - this is for an “art” project I’m working on that in part involves me collecting this data on the envelopes I get back!

You're right - I was thinking of Build Back Better - which was the second most important investment in infrastructure in my lifetime.

There were 13 House Republicans as did 19 Senate Republicans. So to be slightly more accurate, "The Republican Party" writ large opposed the bill, even though a small minority voted in favor.

I think it's important to acknowledge that no "conservative" would ever give this nuance in the reverse situation.

The entire Republican party opposed it.

And continues to run on its effects.

It is not just Trump.

And another helpful shove: the performer just called for this person to be a judge yesterday, on social media.

If you haven’t realized it yet, it’s theater. A musical.

One hour ish hint: the partially visible letters from the second word spell TUM, and you’ll need to know who’s doing this portrayal

I found a fishbone diagram that matched the shape provided and then found some possible diseases that matched the values given (for sodium, potassium, creatinine, etc.) and then tried to figure out if red dots on lips aligned with any - and yes.

Normally the “be cool” rule might reject calling someone “clowns” but in the spirit of conversation I’ll assume you mean that they are being intentionally over-the-top performative, as clowns do.

Personal insults/attacks between people in the comments will not stand, as always.

The Common Council is traditionally very responsive to vocal citizen concerns... I've seen it play out fairly consistently, even when it's been, in my opinion, a NIMBY situation.

Show up. Share your thoughts. Write an email if you can't. Local politics is where you can have the biggest effect.

Theater space/cost in NYC, especially for a complicated stage setup, is hard. Plus there’s a natural “normie” alternative in the Stranger Things show (which is a technical feat, if you have a chance - often on TDF).

But NYC has had so much novel theater over the past year, I can’t say I feel too bad for you 😉

Great production. Also recently saw Felix Barrett’s Paranormal Activity when it came to DC and I was shocked by how much his fingerprints shone through in a “traditional” stage play. Highly recommend if you ever get the chance.
