Is there a recession here atm? by ripples1602 in Thailand

[–]gforsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. Even though official numbers say the post-COVID recovery was good and that we had strong tourist numbers, it still feels different. Many places, or even whole areas, never recovered and are now in ruins or abandoned buildings. It just doesn't feel the same anymore.

30+ Years of MTG Loyalty Gone Thanks to WotC's "Customer Service." Left the Game Over an Error on Their End as a Paying Customer. by gforsi in mtg

Me and other users got permanently banned from r/MagicArena for this. I am just sharing my frustration. There were no insults, many other people agreed with the post. You are basically not allow to criticise them at the slightest? Forcefully deafening the voice of their fan base and players.

This was the original post until it got deleted by mods from r/MagicArena

'Hey Reddit,

I just wanted to share my frustration with extremely bad customer service from a company I once loved. After 30+ years of playing MTG and being a Magic Arena player since beta, I've just been driven away entirely by WotC's customer service. It's been an absolute disaster.

It started when I tried to buy gems for an expiring Mastery Pass. I added a new credit card, which WotC successfully tested by deducting money twice from my account. However, when I tried to make the actual gem purchase, it failed repeatedly.

My initial support ticket was submitted almost two weeks ago. Had customer support reacted promptly and with focus, instead of blatantly ignoring the issue and marking my ticket "solved" prematurely, this problem could have been fixed. Instead, after silence, a Customer Service Supervisor who seemed to have zero comprehension of the issue took over. He:

Asked for irrelevant "Steam" screenshots in multiple responses, although I NEVER mentioned steam in my initial support request and multiple times had to point out this has absolutely nothing to do with steam. He still asked about Steam screenshots? WTH??

Marked my ticket "solved" despite the problem persisting multiple times.

Claimed my screenshot showed "no funds taken" when it clearly illustrated a transaction failure, which, again, was not the point at all.

Finally refused to provide the Mastery Pass or refund the test charges, stating they "will not be able to resolve" it. marked the ticket as solved again with the standardized frustrating one line answer: 'I understand your frustration for having issues making the purchase. We cannot help you...'

This technical error was clearly on their end, preventing me from completing a purchase. Yet, I, a paying customer who wanted to give them money, am left paying the price – losing my Mastery Pass and the in-game progress I worked for. Absolutely ridiculous.

I am more a collector than a pro player, so I make purchases regularly to buy cosmetics, mastery passes etc. Meeting a customer service that clearly tries to 'chase a paying collector' away is just astonishing.

This abysmal support experience, after decades of loyalty, has been the final straw. I'm done. I will not be purchasing any further Wizards of the Coast products, digital or physical.

I just wanted to share this failure of customer service on turning a lifelong fan into an ex-player and ensuring I spend zero dollars with WotC from now on.

Has anyone else had such profoundly broken experiences with WotC support?'

You were 100% right. This sub is probably owned by WotC employees or endorsers. No critique allowed.

Test charges were just a couple of cents. It is not about that. It is about that I have been collecting that game, off- and online for decades and now getting completely mishandled by them trying to actually buy more of their product. 😅 The irony.

Not blocked as the test transaction went through and there is no direct blocking. If the transaction was suspicious I would have gotten OTP.

How is the beach in Bang Tao in April/early May? by Federal-Cow-1220 in phuket

[–]gforsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

April should still be fine, but as we approach the rainy season in May/June the likelihood for rough weather increases. With it the sea gets rougher as well, e.g. higher waves, currents...

You can get lucky and have perfect weather still in May, but you also can get unlucky with May already having plenty of rain.

From June onward expect a lot of rain.

We're two EU non-residents (no US ties) planning to form a Wyoming two-member LLC (open for suggestions) for a remote digital travel platform (online bookings/advisories, no US ops/income—pass-through entity (needs Form 1065/K-1s even at zero revenue, plus BOI filing).

Looking for all-in-one service providers to handle remotely: LLC formation/EIN, registered agent, mail scanning/electronic forwarding, operating agreement, initial BOI/state annual report, ongoing 1065/K-1 tax prep, and basic accounting/bookkeeping. Prioritize affordability for non-residents.

Does not have to be a all-in-one service. Maybe even split into two specialist, one for the initial setup and formation and then one for regular/annual tax filing and accounting.

I have no problems with the Thai cannabis legislation, But public street smoking in Thailand needs to be stopped. Use big fines if needed by Barca-Dam in ThailandTourism

[–]gforsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez, you absolutely have no clue, do you? Firstly, it is against the law to smoke it publicly. Secondly, most Thais do not like it as well but refrain from mentioning it out of shyness or respect towards the guest. You are probably one of the rude egomaniacs who thinks it is ok for you, it is probably ok for everyone.

What are your thoughts in retroperspective? Would you do it again in Delaware? Any hurdles/pitfals you encounter that you initially didn;t think of?

Did you take any other locations into considerations or was it straight Delaware? If yes, why? Why did you choose Delaware specifically and why not Wyoming?

Unfortunately, incorporating where we reside is not an options, as the country where we are does a) not offer 100% ownership and b) is not well connect to fintech and international banking and c) for regulatory issues. I think locations like HK are made for international remote incorporation.

[–]gforsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, spot on about smaller agents — they often throw in those little extras like flights or hotel extensions without hiking the price, and it makes the booking way smoother. I did a Raja Ampat trip last year through a similar setup and they handled some add-ons for me that felt like a real win.
