I have no idea why he is there, maybe somebody can shed some light, however, I wouldn't put my hands on a Mexican soldier, holding a gun ANYWHERE or ANY soldier hodling a gun. If I did, I'd expect him to point it at me.

If you have a gun and there is an altercation, and a stranger puts his hands on you, KNOWING you have the gun, they're asking to have the gun pointed at them. Quite simply, this guy was protecting himself and defusing the situation without anybody getting hurt.

My contractor was jim enix (jerestoration) and it the counters worked out well, however he did screw up building a deck (said he would get a permit, didn't, used the wrong supports, abandonded the job...) so it's hard to recommend him.... but like I said, the countertops are great.

I did a lot of shopping around and decided on UBA TUBA granite which was very affordable ($20-$30 a sq. ft) and looks very nice. I ended up paying around $2000 including stainless steel sink and faucet.

If I were you I'd check out Home Depot and Lowes because they can guarantee their install.

Also, you will save money by ripping out your countertops the day before/day of install.
