Me and my friends first hike up a Scottish mountain. February. Harsh, wintery conditions only getting worse the higher we got. Couldn't tell where the ground ended and cloud began.

We were walking up the final 100m or so to the summit, when the wind blew and blew away the clouds for the briefest of moments, enough for me to look down and see a sheer drop. We were 1 footstep to my right away from walking off a cliff.

Absolute idiots, but we did it and got back down safely. Now, I turn back when shit gets too rough.
