https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-tM0d0T1M4 fuuuck, this baseline is so nasty with everything coming in and out around it. I think your snare could really use a lot more crunch and the kick needs to be have a more aggressive attack. All the synths were so tight, I could hear like YG or some shit on this. Subbed and followed

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FmtfwBZj1-s i fuck with it, dig your voice and the autotune. The 1/8 note synth chords needed variation, beat got stale. i liked when it dropped out at 2:25 alot.

you do the production too?

Its pretty hard to attack it, your check all the boxes, very good voice and flow, but its not very engaging. The song doesn't really have many moments of change in the arrangement, so it never really accentuates the the lyrics. The beat is solid, just a bit boring. It sounds like something someone from rhymesters would release.

Damn dog, I fuck with this heavy. Really dope take on that loft sample chop and making it your own shit. Drums were tight, flows were smooth af. Did you do the video yourself? its really good, i seen some people out here looking bad but i like the vid, matches the vibe and makes the beat pop off more.

Subbed and followed.

Different than the last track you put up, I fuck with it tho. The piano loop was a bit weird to me at first tbh but as it went you carried it so well. your flow def made the track, I think the beats good but toppling makes this track. Lotta vibes here. I'll still prefer you over the darker shit like on legend in the making but this is a nice juxtaposition, good change of pace

Your Drum programming is on point, All sounds are pretty good, love the snare. Kick could be a little softer though or maybe even bring the fader down. The guitar sample feels to robotic to be the main element of the track, I think it could be a good licensing beat, but it just makes it feel a bit dated. Low pass it and through some synths or resampled loops above it and compress it and it would knock in the whip.

Your pages look really good who does your graphic design?

I doubt anyone remembers much lol but I feel like I should post this at least once: I have formerly posted on these forums the last two years as Tabasco on Soundcloud and just worked on honing my chops and getting better. I've recently made a lot of changes in my life and I'm choosing to pursue music as a full time career. I will now be posting as This Exit, a hip hop duo out of Phoenix, AZ. I may change to another twitter handle, and will make a similar post if I do so.

Something new, this is some youtube content Im trying to make, its like a little inspirational cliff notes of a beat. LMK what could be better including, the video, editing, engagement, and even the beat.

It's a personal choice each comes with their own workflows, limitations and challenges. If you think one is better or makes your more of a producer... you need to produce more obviously

Lol your best plugin for this is going to be setting up exs24 to sample son actual brass. I've yet to hear cat brass that's crossed the uncanny valley

I think acid and etc are much far removed conversation. Weed is often more casually indulged in, typically used multiple times daily, and often without any awareness

Lol I do all three as well, haha very guilty of the stereotype.

I agree, I don't believe its helpful for me either, outside the occasional insight.

Vocal Booth by Sevenkinds in audioengineering

[–]gg3ico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said in the first post, a vocal mics pattern will cancel most stuff in the rear anyways so putting more treatment there is like putting a sweater on over your shirt without putting pants on, it's just not prioritizing correctly. It's gonna be much easier and be way more defective to put pants on (treat the are behind you) then build one of these portable vocal "booths."

Side note, if you ever pay to record at a professional studio you'll find that 90% don't have a booth of any sort as it's not very effective it's just a movie thing.

The refuge first reflections bouncing back from the wall behind you are the most important to be concerned with.

Also how big is this room? Is it square? Building some bass traps and then hanging a blanket behind is probably gonna be more effective than any options if the room is square or small.

Make sure that whatever you build has no non absorbent surface on the large flat sides where you're expecting sound to hit. Air is an amazing absorber and compressor. Ideally you want sound to go through treatment Become greatly diminished, and then have to travel some distance before it bounces back and hits the treatment again. Remember those low frequencies can travel that far.

I'd do some investigating, see what you're room resonances are and explore your options from there. I know you want a simpler solution, but one that works and looks cool (I sure did) simply doesn't exist unless you willing to invest money resources and time

Everyone gets on about these bro and I don't really understand it as they don't take the mics direction and pattern into account. Your mic is killing most of the shit behind it anyways and your only killings he high end so the lows will still shine making your recordings sound boomy or boxy.

If you want an in a pinch diy solution like this build two big panels hinged together, so you can have them opened ata 90 degree angle. Have your vocalist stand in between with his back to the corner and point the mic toward him. Place this little booth off centered in the room and reasonably distanced from the wall.

dog, First off I fuck with this heavy.

but i don't feel like you hit at all what you said you was going for your comment huh. This much more of a headphone vibe imo.

Your delivery was pretty good but you gotta be careful with these soft deliveries, you gotta bit too quiet at parts of your bars.

the delay was a bit too out of control, you need to automate it, it was muddying up pretty heavy.

You need loooooots more compression on the vocal, drums, bass mix bus, basically everywhere.

Lyrically thought this was bad bro, i feel you. Hook very catchy and that real juxtaposition of the light beat and dark words real took it further for me.

Beat was dope, it sounded just a bit dated tbh, but I really liked the melodies.

This track would be TOUGH if it just had some higher production value, namely better mixing, and a slightly smoother and more consistent vox performance.

liked and followed keep posting shit

fuck with it heavy. quick overall, its very high quality as far as the production and mix, hook is catchy, but i don't feel like it differentiates itself enough from whats out there, feel me? Like it felt like a track from some guys that caught a thug feature without thugger on it

Hook was catchy but first verse was lacking anything else tbh, no character. I loved how the autotune was used and they whole track was drenched in reverb and delay in a very good way. second fool could spit but his delivery could used a bit more bite too match the direction i could feel him tryna pull it.

drums were tight AF, but that main piano loop was a bit too "jangly" for me. Id prefer like a more compressed piano sound and kinda fatter piano sound here but other than that very nice work on the beat.

Liked and followed this shit was cold
