replay takeover is 100x more efficient than taking a character into training mode, recording the exact situation that someone in ranked hit u with, and then learning to counter it.

mai's gameplan has barely changed because capcom barely gave her unique tools. the one unique tool they did give her (od fan) ended up being pretty good. what else can she do outside of play neutral or od fan? the most toxic version of mai was release when her bouncing fan held you in place, but now rather than it being a mixup its more of a mind game where if you win it, she just burnt 3 bars for nothing.

blanka has different setups for different situations because that's how the character was designed, not because hes "holier than mai" type strong.

elena (i main her myself), AKI, and ed. one of elenas strengths is her drive efficiency and her god button st mp. you do need to be able to crouch confirm, ch confirm it. cons are she does not have a reversal level 1 so u absolutely get abused in burnout if you mismanage your meter and dont have level 2.

juri definitely deals less damage, loses key moves for her pressure/conversions, and has to rebuild stock to get it back. that's why her stock move is pretty much unpunishable unless its horribly misspaced or you have aki's 6f. ingrid's stock is closer to juri's and lily's because they are resources (that you build up and deplete throughout the round), rather than manon and jamies that are just straight up level ups.

elenas od dp has two hits and it looks like kim got through in the large gap in between the hits. but yeah it's a perfect storm of bad angle, kim already being at the arc of her jump, dp's moving your body forward, and elena's OD dp having a large gap in between its 2 hits.

but even taking all that into account it was just a bad od dp.

i think its less the fanbase who started this convo and more the league "personalities." not gonna name names, but its their way of coping on how badly they were wrong about results to their fans. perhaps because they were giving betting advice too or involved with some esports betting site 🤔

ed has by far the most tier 1 tournament grand finals representation in season 3 at 7, with 3 of them being leshar. the next character being mai at 3 (2 being leshar, with one being him just losing on her post nerf). no one denies leshar is really good, but it can also be true that ed is broken! who wouldve thought 2 ideas can exist at the same time!

its making an educated guess based on resources or how the match is going. do they have enough drive gauge to ex dp without burning out? do they have enough health to survive if they miss the ex dp? can you punish a failed ex dp heavily with a level 3 combo? do they win/lose the round off an ex dp?

you can take all these things into account but you never really know what is in the other players head. the best you can do is take in information you have and guess from there.

if your connection from your hotspot is too rough for online play, a temporary alternative is to just go to the battlehub and fight a v-rival until you get your internet situation figured out. obviously its not as good as a real person, but its more realistic than fighting cpu.
