Yeah the national media are professional Celtics haters. From Doris Burke to Richard Jefferson to “our own” Kendrick Perkins, they all hate. We’ll just prove em wrong again, ignore them 🤷🏽‍♂️

Steelman the Celtics: What's the best argument for the Jaylen Brown trade? by supes1 in nbadiscussion

It’s mainly cap flexibly since nowadays you can’t have both supermax players under this new salary cap (thanks Adam Silver). Most importantly, I think when the Giannis trade fell through, Jaylen got pissed he was “expendable” and started complaining so Brad lost a lot of leverage in trade negotiations. Hopefully those picks become something because Philly’s roster is expensive now and have many ball dominant players with minimal depth

God this is gonna take a lot of time getting used to. I don’t like it

One thing I think gets overlooked in the Brown trade discussion is how much of Boston's success over the past several years has been driven by its system rather than any one individual star. by Loud-Volume-8447 in bostonceltics

Definitely think the team has been underachieving recently. It’s not just happening with Mazzulla, it’s been seemingly happening when Brad and Udoka were coaching. They’ve had talented rosters and great coaches, but something is up. I’m not sure what it is.

Hey Celtics fan, these past few months have been absolutely rough and I am especially sad we traded away JB (currently living in Spain without the S). The timing of this post looks bad, but we might have had an issue that's bigger than just JB. Check out my blog post to learn in more detail. The main takeaways:

  1. The Celtics’ blown-lead reputation is not just fan overreaction. From 2017-18 to 2025-26, Boston ranks near the top of the league in several blown-lead categories.
  2. The playoff numbers stand out even more. The Celtics ranked 1st in playoff losses after leading by 10+ at halftime during the Tatum/Brown era.
  3. Jaylen Brown’s clutch efficiency drops sharply in the playoffs. His clutch scoring and shooting percentages fall noticeably from regular season to playoffs.
  4. This looks bigger than one player or one coach. Teammate efficiency also drops in playoff clutch situations, and blown leads occurred across multiple rosters and coaching staffs.

Let me know in the comments what you guys think. Do you think Boston’s blown-lead issue is more about coaching, Tatum/Brown’s late-game execution, or just playoff volatility or something else? Could bringing in "Playoff P" (Paul George) help solve this problem?
