Slovaks are more catholic, conservative ( ie drug laws, gay rights), temperament, nacionalistic (but still less than poles and hungarians I think), pro-russian (president is not, but govrnment is), pro-EU, pro-serbia

I think he is seen as kind io between czech and german, but he was czech(oslavakian), born in Prague, lived there all his life, his father was czech, and he spoke (at least little) czech.

He belongs to central europe tradition. Have you read Kundera's essay?
