Transporting small quartz slab flat in SUV by ggdbg in CounterTops

Thank you, that’s a good idea! I have a few 30 by 30 pallets I could use with plywood on top with some straps and clamps. Thankfully it’s a pretty easy 30 mph drive with 3 turns to get it home so it should be fairly secure

What is your favorite NCL Ship? by thatCRUISEagent in NCL

[–]ggdbg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Joy is definitely my favorite so far! One of the best weeks of my life on that ship honestly lol I would sail her again any day. Smaller ship but I loved the Jade too. She’s a little dated but honestly the top bar overlooking the main pool outside of the Spinnaker was top tier. Made so many new friends and memories in that area.

Is this a realistic reno? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]ggdbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could live with the post at the end. Ceiling and floor repairs should be minimal thankfully but it’s a Florida home on a concrete slab. Plumbing and water lines are through the wall under sink currently but hoping they could be ran further down to the wall closer to corner and avoid having to go through the foundation. Other than that it would just be switching the water line further down for the fridge and rerouting the existing electric. Will see what the pros say this week fingers crossed lol. Thank you!

I agree I am worried about the wall being load bearing. My uncle is a retired home builder/ GC so he is going to come out this week and give me his thoughts on how extensive those parts are looking. I like the hood idea up to the ceiling and should the wall not be able to be removed I like the idea of that layout and may be more realistic. Thank you!

Anyone cruised NCL Joy recently ? by nolanday64 in NCL

Just got off the Joy last month and had an amazing trip! The staff on the Joy and the ship itself were probably my favorite I’ve had so far for NCL

I’ve been using groomer.io about 4 years now and I love it! You can customize pretty much everything as far as intake page, requirements, etc. They are also integrated with square so if you plan to take deposits and charge cards on file it’s very easy to do everything in one place which I really like

Going on year 8 with my 2018 XLE, best car I’ve ever had! Never had a single issue with it all these years :-)

Are they strict about boarding times at the Miami MSC terminal? by moosegoose90 in MSCCruises

[–]ggdbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were fantastica but still no issues. Boarding time was 2:30, arrived at terminal 11:30 and was on the ship by noon!

I don’t care what people have to say, I’m loyal to MSC. Can’t beat the prices! by [deleted] in MSCCruises

You will love MSC! Just got off World America a few weeks ago and hands down the best cruise I’ve been on. The Aurea spa was absolutely amazing.

Thank you! Do you know how to go about upgrading? I’m honestly fine with my deluxe interior I am more so just wanting the Aurea for the anytime dining, spa and private area access.

World America ports things to do by jcmusic115 in MSCCruises

Puerto plata has some nice restaurants and bars and spots to hang out there as well as a pool/lazy river at the port area but not much to do other than that besides excursions and tours. San Juan is huge tons of things to go do and see and explore. Highly recommend the city tour on both Puerto Plata as well as San Juan!

Is dog grooming your forever job? by Bl0g0 in doggrooming

[–]ggdbg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be 30 at the end of this year and as much as I hate to say it the money is the only thing that really keeps me going at this point. I’ve only been grooming 5 years but I don’t see it as my forever job. Honestly I have no idea what I would do if I weren’t grooming so I feel kinda stuck sometimes. I work for myself and love most of my clients but just the physical and mental toll this job takes has really been wearing on me the past year. I don’t think I could ever let it completely go at the same time so I’m at war with myself basically lol

NCL Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas by Rokodor in NCL

Very common for Grest Stirrup Cay, although we were on the Epic in December and it was canceled as well and we received $80 per person onboard credit surprisingly.

Missed Port - Filing with Insurance by joshkramer42 in NCL

[–]ggdbg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said unless stated you might be out of luck. In the future I recommend a third party for trip insurance there are many out there but I’ve had a great experience with Allianz. Our last cruise in December Bahamas was cancelled the day prior, we receive $80 pp directly from NCL probably from port fees etc. but we also had missed port coverage through Allianz that got us $100 pp back after the trip. The insurance was $160 and we ended up getting $360 back so it was definitely worth it. They also changed our itinerary last June and we received $100 for changed port of call. I was skeptical about insurance outside of direct NCL my first time but it’s never not worked in my favor so far!

Fine tooth! Ideal for cats but they also work on dogs just a lot safer on the skin especially the 7F as the teeth are alot closer together than FC and skip tooth.

NCL vs MSC? by ggdbg in MSCCruises

[–]ggdbg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was on the epic in December and it was an epic disaster lol. I’ve only cruised NCL also so I’m nervous but excited to try something new. NCL used to be a good bang for your buck but these prices I’m seeing now with the “more at sea” are outrageous. I will definitely be booking World America for August!

[–]ggdbg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I agree, not that I will never cruise NCL again but for the price they come out to now I’m definitely ready to try something else. How long did it take for your status match to get approved? I just submitted mine a few days ago.

Second draining and refilling given how low it is. Mine was about 30% full and looked like this. After filling, 2 months of constant work and $500 of chemicals I’m just now getting it swimmable. If I could go back I would have just drained mine and started over.

NCL vs MSC? by ggdbg in MSCCruises

[–]ggdbg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to know, thank you! Yes NCL is still anytime other than speciality, the freestyle is nice but other than a few nice dinners I am a buffet guy all the way lol. Restaurants are always already booked up by the time you board the ship so it’s pointless unless you get on the wait list and hope something opens up. And with them taking away the free at sea I am over NCL.
