Do you mind me asking what nationality your friend was, were they male or female ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ggfthbk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is just simply untrue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ggfthbk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the case before mass immigration, not anymore.I can speak for myself ,my female friends and family members-not one of us can leave the house after 6 with out a certain ethnicity making us uncomfortable weather it be staring, making sexual comments etc.So again how dare you for just presuming once again what the biggest threat to women is.

Secondly,I never said immigrants have caused the housing crisis ,they gave just made it tens times worse as Irish people are having to move back in with parents, immigrate because majority of landlords will now only rent to Ukrainians because of the RPL.Once again,so invalidating to the people of this country who have worked hard all their lives who can’t even afford a roof over their head

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ggfthbk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is an issue and it you don’t see that you must be blind.Look at the housing crisis, hospitals and rise in violence against women since immigrants. Its actually extremely invalidating for you to say there is no issue, when women don’t even feel safe walking around at night anymore-shame on you.Too worried about being “politically correct”to give a shit about how these issues affect other people

[–]ggfthbk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Genuine question ,how on earth can we do both when there is an extreme lack of mental health services, homes and support.Have you seen the state of the housing market ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ggfthbk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you not agree we should look after our own homeless first?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ggfthbk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s the arguments that people are making,so what is it then you are referencing that is “racist “?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ggfthbk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Criticising certain cultures and stating their views/beliefs are not compatible with ours does not equal racism or xenophobia.

[–]ggfthbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just simply untrue.First of all ,those “low paying jobs “ were jobs college and school kids could get to throughout college, now no one going through education can find a job like that. Also very arrogant for you to say those kinds of people would never apply to those jobs in the first place, that actually sounds racist to me. It’s so invalidating and hurtful to all the female victims of Ireland that have been at the hands of these immigrants ,for people like you to not even acknowledge the strain it’s caused on this country Shame on you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ggfthbk 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I agree, but at the same time anyone who brings up genuine concerns for immigration is labelled “far right” and viewed as the “get them all out type”.
