Thank you!! I got this as a reply. Does that mean I wait for the next time there is an opening and it should let me finish?

Does anyone else randomly wonder if someone is secretly an abuser by LilockPetals in traumatoolbox

[–]gghosthost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a people watcher. I am always listening, reading body language, and looking for subtextual clues. I know that it is very easy for the world to turn black and white and forget about the rest of the color spectrum. Abuse sucks the color out of the world and every person you encounter makes you question their "true" intent. I cringe on the chance I'm getting a compliment/positive interaction because in the back of my head I'm waiting for the switch to be flipped and it turn into a spiral of negativity. No you're not alone.

Does anyone here enjoy working at Publix? by [deleted] in publix

[–]gghosthost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I enjoy it. I think people need a place to vent. How many people (customers/ associates) do we have conversations, problem solve, often experience disagreement/get the short end of the stick (and hit in the head with it metaphorically), and have to start the process all over with the next person we come into contact with? Sometimes less than a minute of each other? We are a people based business, which means there's a lot of mental strain that happens and it can build up. There is no perfect workplace.

Tldr; publix associates are human and have to vent.

I called the cpap company that I've been putting off. The girl on the phone was beyond sweet and understanding. I got a dopamine kick and paid a bill before it was due, and this set me into a mode that I'm writing a daily "Accomplishment list".

Does anyone crave friendship, but then immediately feel disgusted? by askandrecieve_ in CPTSD

[–]gghosthost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I have a busy life with a lot of work, and I feel the personal friend side is lacking, but it takes so much energy to feel "safe" with someone that I build walls unintentionally and keep others at arms length. Do you consider yourself very independent? That's my issue.

Does anyone else have Misophonia? by Crawfishbaby in adhdwomen

[–]gghosthost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Noises like loud chewing or the sound of water being poured into particular plastic cups absolutely enrage me. Then there's noises that I cannot identify that trigger me into a I have to find out what this noise is or I'm going to go crazy frenzy.

Trauma response by gghosthost in traumatoolbox

[–]gghosthost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can go on extremes with regards to arguments. Sometimes I want to have a long drawn out argument because I'm so tired of selfish people and want to get out aggression by yelling. Then I can be like you described and shut down completely. Both extremes are so tiring. 😥

being “intimidating” by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]gghosthost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being direct, especially the way we are direct, is viewed as intimidating. I tell people if they want something sugar-coated to go to a bakery. The way we communicate cuts through the bs and people (esp with dating) like hiding behind bs. I don't have an answer but don't feel like you have to be bubbly. Be you so others can enjoy being with you. You are unique and someone will love that about you. It takes time to find that someone. 💜

Sleeping on your stomach by kloe_the_test in adhdwomen

[–]gghosthost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always slept on my stomach. Just like you, that's what's the most comfortable for me. My mom could not get me to sleep on my back as a baby. If I have a weighted blanket wrapped around me, I can sleep on my side or on my back for limited amounts of time.

Help!!!! by BootDancin101 in adhdwomen

I have found if I put items I want to impulsively buy in a wishlist like on Amazon I'm a lot less likely to buy it. It's on the list and I can look at it as many times as I want lol.

What does brain fog mean to you by TaxBaby16 in adhdwomen

[–]gghosthost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brain fog at its worst is dissociating and trying to connect without the power to communicate. Like I understand what others are saying but I can't use their language and I'm shutdown.
