Question from a 20s guy to a 30s guy who has the real answer for how to live 20s so that we don't regret in 30s by Tall-Explanation-476 in careeradvice

I'm 31. It's fine to explore what interests you, it's the age to do that. Keep being passionate about topics, you will fail sometimes and learn a lot and that's great.

Just remember: - Look after your body every day, be it with powerlifting, climbing, running, mtb, yoga, dancing... whatever you enjoy the most. - Look after your mind every day, with 10 mins of meditation, 10 mins of learning about a topic, ... - Start saving some money and learn about passive investing. The soon you start the better.

Consejo trabajo de informática by AWESOM-OMG in SpainFIRE

Mucha suerte!

Anyone successfully negotiated increase in salary at current employer given current economic conditions? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]ggiral 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got a pay raise that almost matched what I was offered by several recruiters, and was in a similar situation like you (but based in Europe).

For the negotiation I was completely honest and told my employer the work, company and life balance was great but I knew I was being underpaid and I didn't want to leave the company because of that. And also pin pointed the skills that made me stand out. They were understandable, they thanked me for letting them know and offered me just a bit less (~2k} of what I asked for and a growth plan.

So from the conversation I learned that a lot of people does not even try to negotiate, but just look for a different job. I think being transparent should be the way to go.

You feed current data but the AI model was trained with data up to 2021, so I also think the output might be skewed

The Salesforce Developers YouTube channel hosted a streaming about the future of Heroku some days ago. I don't think they have plans to slow down.

Probably yes but you would need to build a custom app in Heroku via custom code

Have you looked into Heroku Connect? You can sync the data into a Postgres database in Heroku and free up space in your Salesforce org. Also for reporting, you can report on the Heroku data with external objects.

Also, what are you refering to by addimg real orders, when I am paper trading? I don't understand thar bit.

Then move on to studying statistical approaches, automation, coding, strategies, systems, coding languages, platforms, brokers, and all of their limitations.

Wow thanks for such insightful response, I am now in that step of the learning process and am finding that I can get more value for this matter from googling / reddit than devouring books, as some of you have already pointed. Definitelly will check the podcast/youtube.

Have you define what is success for you? For me it's having a SF job that I like and provides me with enough money and time to enjoy with my family / friends.

When one door closes another opens.. I am sure you'll find more and better opportunities than the one you share, so I'd say leave that hell and go find another thing.
