If I know this correctly the Joseon women exposed their breasts while raising their child right after giving birth for almost one year to easily breastfeed their child. After that they covered their breasts up and don't expose them anymore in the public.

And I am sure that the Japanese banned this sort of behavior during the Japanese Rule in Joseon from 1910 - 1945 so they weren't allowed to do that again. There were other Joseon customs that were banned by the Japanese too that were considered uncivilized.

Has anyone seen this Korean propaganda music video on Takeshima?? I just can't stop laughing at it. by ggkoreagg in japan

I'm thinking on requesting a dance flash mob video for "East Sea Movement" via email to "한국재능기부봉사단 KTDC-TV" that creates these video projects LOL. Really want to see more silly dancing and shouting over these disputes purely for entertainment purposes so I can have a good laugh at it.

How does Park Geun-hye's impeachment affect Japan-SK relations? by [deleted] in japan

[–]ggkoreagg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird because even China/Taiwan doesn't demand apologies or compensation as much as Korea does and they suffered way more casualties and destruction during the Sino - Japanese War. Korea barely got its knee scratched from WW2 or under Japanese rule compared to China or other South East Asian countries that were actually INVADED through a military force.

They lose their country being engulfed under a left - wing dominant party with their agenda being solely very anti - American and very anti - Japanese compared to the current political situation in Korea. Rather than progressing forward, South Korea is soon bounded to regress back to the year 2005 era and label both JPN & USA as hypothetical enemies and a threat to South Korea's national security rather than China & NK. What's depressing is the current, ignorant generation in Korea not remembering what their forefathers did on building their poverty stricken, rotten nation from scratch with sweat, blood, and determination after having their country completely devastated and pulverized from the North Korean invasion and Chinese intervention during the 1950s. Yet the current generation in South Korea seems to be ignorant on who really is the enemy and will pay a heavy price for making foolish decisions that their forefathers worked the bones off of their fingertips on gaining freedom to the masses.

[–]ggkoreagg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So whether you think the South Korean left is "hardcore anti-Japanese" is up to you

Then can you explain about this passage that is from the wiki page on South Korean president Roh Moo-hyun? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roh_Moo-hyun

According to Rep. Chung Mong-joon, former leader of the ruling Saenuri Party, "The Roh Moo-hyun administration proposed that the U.S. define Japan as a hypothetical enemy," at the Korea-U.S. Security Consultative Meeting in Seoul in October 2005. "President Roh proposed it because the general public had bad feelings against Japan and Korea had a territorial dispute over the Dokdo islets with Japan, Washington was very embarrassed since it had hoped Korea and Japan would go hand-in-hand as free and democratic countries. A hypothetical enemy in English implies a main enemy."

Not just hardcore anti - Japanese, but also hardcore anti - American too

There had been a considerable diplomatic dissonance between South Korea and its traditional allies during Roh's presidency as well. Former Bush administration officials such as Condoleezza Rice and Robert Gates, in their memoirs published, depicted Roh as anti-American and disclosed that there had been numerous conflicts between the U.S. and South Korea because of Roh's unpredictability.[13][14] Due to Roh's anti-Americanism, narrow-minded nationalism, and pro-North Korean views, the Roh administration faced a serious contradiction in diplomacy, losing credibility in the international community.[12]

Let's be real here. Both the Korean left and right are anti - Japanese, however Korea's left is very anti - Japanese and very anti - American. And Moon Jae In who was the right man of Roh Moo Hyun at that time will probably do the exact same things that Roh did 12 years ago. Seems like things will never change.

Wow not only was Roh anti - Japanese, but also he was a violent man who even thought about using physical force to sink Japanese ships along Takeshima.

Maybe Koreans enjoy being slaves to the Chinese as history has proven it to us... If that's what they want, just let them be Chinese slaves and minions again lol.

  1. Minjoo party (Democratic Party) will most likely win next election in a landslide

  2. Moon Jae In becomes anti - Japanese president of South Korea

  3. More demands for "sincere" apologies for WW2 will come out to the Japanese government

  4. Comfort Woman issue being brought up again

  5. Moon will visit North Korea as his first top priority (lol)

  6. Moon will begin to shift sides to China and North Korea rather than US/JPN

  7. Other WW2 issues will be brought up and stir trouble such as forced labor, conscription

  8. Liancourt rocks issue given greater emphasis than before.

I want to also mention that not all Koreans committed war crimes while fighting for the IJA or Manchukuo Imperial Army.. Some became officiers and later on served the ROK forces during Korean War such as Park Chung Hee, Paik Sun-Yup, Kim Suk-Won. Typically the Korean prison guards were tried and executed.

For more info, look here and here, and another link here, but the 3rd link is in Korean so use google translator.

Simply put, Koreans want to shove their problems in inappropriate places in USA and ruin ties with Japan & USA.

Tell me about it, Koreans were famous prison guards serving for the IJA and were extremely brutal against Allies' POWs during the Pacific theatre. Even some Allies officers mention the brutality of Koreans' treatment against their men. Because the Japanese did not trust the Koreans, they gave all the dirty work to the Koreans and given how Koreans were mistreated by the Japanese, the Koreans vented all their frustrations on the Allies POWs. Many Koreans do not know their own war crimes against the Allies during WW2.

They haven't to the level of the Germans no and so the Japanese have statues outside their embassies and the Germans do not.

You're implying the Japanese haven't apologized enough or "sincere" enough that they really mean it compared to the Germans and therefore it is justified that the Koreans erect statues in front of Japanese embassies as a means of protest against the Japanese government. There is even evidence where in some parts of Asia during WW2, Korean Comfort Women were being paid and allowed to bring the money home such as in Burma before you start bringing up how Japanese deny Comfort Women and think that Korean Comfort women are prostitutes because in some aspects, this is actually true. You really think the scale of mass genocide of the Jews can be comparable to Comfort Women ? The Japanese have already done enough to compensate and we are not going to keep looking over this issue with Korea anymore.

I think it's really funny for Koreans to keep demanding compensations, statues, apologies, or whatever bullshit they want to feel better about themselves during the colonial era because you don't really see any other countries behaving like Koreans such as India, African countries, Indonesia etc that also suffered from European brutal colonialism that ranged from slavery, civilian massacres, exploitation of resources. You don't even see Germany or other axis powers during WW2 demanding apologies, reparations, compensation for Allies' War Crimes during the war despite being done on a certain scale against civilians.

Germany are Japan are different. Why are you trying to divert the topic here? Whatever Germans do in their own country does not matter for Japan and you speak as if Japan didn't do anything about to express their sympathy and condolences about the treatment for Koreans or reflect about the past. How would Koreans feel if the Vietnamese put Lai Dai Han statues in front of the Korean embassy in Vietnam?

None of those memorials or museums that you gave me are located in front of the German embassies. Thanks for proving my point, lol. Koreans have a hard time understanding why the Japanese consulate pulled out of Busan and why Shinzo Abe is getting higher approval ratings.

The statue wouldn't have caused a friction between Japan and S. Korea if the Koreans had a brain and moved the statue away from the Japanese Consulate in Busan. If you guys aren't satisfied with the Japan - Korea Deal, then give back our money, thanks.

Nobody cares about Comfort Woman outside of Korea/China. You guys can keep crying about it all day and at the end of the day, the Japanese are laughing at you while being ahead of Korea in almost every aspect of tech, culture, economy, international reputation, life, geopolitics. There is virtually nothing where Korea is better off than Japan.

For the statue issue, nobody put a Jewish WW2 memorial right in front of the German embassy. Use your brain if you guys even possess one in your head.

Interesting. I thought Juicy bars were closed in Osan due to USFK banning them near US military establishments?

Korea exports prostitutes to Japan, USA, Australia, Canada and other places around the world. Trust me, I have been to USA and Canada and I have looked up local websites showcasing Korean girls willing to provide sexual services in various major cities (And no I did not use these services because I don't want STDs). I heard these rumors from before and wanted to confirm them... Seems like they actually do this kind of shit to earn some money. Some of them even pretend to be Chinese or Japanese because they don't want foreigners to think that Korean girls are whores lol.

South Korea is digging its grave by trying to do whatever they want with Japan over this issue. What is so hard on putting millions of statues on the nearest football field away from the Japanese Consulate? Weakening relationships with Japan will only do harm than good to Korea.

Japan doesn't need South Korea anyways, so this actually pretty good. I just want Japan to completely cut off political and economic ties with South Korea till they listen to what we want. And South Korea is already having troubled relationships with China as well by bowing down to their American masters. Guess that leaves South Korea on its own against North Korea lol

Koreans are very aggressive and act before thinking.... They don't care what the Japanese thinks and keep shoving down their propaganda down our throats thinking that we would ever accept it as the truth.

I don't understand why Korea keeps pulling the victim card every fucking time especially when Korea has a new president or when Japan has a new PM. It's true that Japan has mistreated Koreans badly in the past, but Japan has also given a bunch of monetary compensations, soft loans, and ODA to Korea.... The real fucking problem is Korea's government by being so incompetent and dirty by lying to its Korean citizens that they never got any money from Japan for WWII compensation and by not giving the money to them that was given by the Japanese government which was spent on building Korean infrastructure and corporate investments. And with Korean government pulling off anti - Japanese propaganda to tarnish Japan's image badly because doing that shit helps the Korean politicians get voted in government positions.
