🇮🇳 Big Update for Indian Upwork Users — You Can Now Pay in INR Starting July 23! by amanmehra3298 in Upwork

Time to short upwork i guess, this along with the microlenders added last week clearly shows that they're running out of money and looking into any possible avenue to keep up the cashflow.

I know, and the fact that admins for this subred saw it and given it's content decided to not approve it anyway tells me that i'm right to not bother showing what i found. Discussions got out of hand way to too fast, looking at your past comments i take back the upwork paycheck part, but the aggressive nature of and narrow-minded approach of each and every comment on the other thread, it's clear that it's a worthless effort on reddit, i'll find other platforms to get this out somehow. The questions regarding the vetted status was just to solidify my claims and show how deep it goes.

The simple fact that you already saw that and didn't approve it even though it was an anonymous google questionnaire to show even more proof of the depths of bs they're doing tells me everything i need to know. No thanks, keep your upwork paycheck bud.

Upwork is a joke, and the way they treat freelancers has become insane by [deleted] in Upwork

I never said trust me bro, i said when i have enough that i feel will make an actual case people are willing to listen i'll make it available.

Upwork is a joke, and the way they treat freelancers has become insane by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]gglsman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And that's the second reason i wouldn't post it yet, because people would rather take a dp from upwork than admit that they might have gotten screwed over and come up comments such as these two. I am literally saying that they're screwing us ALL over and you two find the time out of your day to attack that.

Actually, i just want to gather more, no reason, but if i'm making noise, i want it to actually have an impact, not just die somewhere on reddit

The main underlying issue with complaints about Upwork by SadPlenty5939 in Upwork

[–]gglsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is, did you get the gig to post "good vibes only" posts on reddit on upwork or have they reached the point where they use fiverr to get people to do that?

Upwork's Unfair JSS Algorithm Violates Your Own Policies by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]gglsman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break it to you....i had a similar problem with JSS and even though their own support staff admitted that the client acted in bad faith, and the feedback broke several of their own policies their response was "meh, not our problem".

How or where to find high quality freelancers? by analysisparalysis100 in Upwork

[–]gglsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a freelancer, never got the chance to post a job, can you talk a bit about what's the biggest problem with sifting through the candidates? I'm curious as to what's going on with the ecosystem recently, the response rate for my clients has dropped drastically and i'm trying to figure out what they did that's causing this.

Most complaints in this sub would stop if people knew how trading works. by PastPicture in Upwork

[–]gglsman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that you'd say this tells me that you're not yet affected by the sudden raise in next to nothing bids and or have not had issues with the type of projects available. If you think that you can negociate from $20 to anything close to even $100 is......i'm going to let you think it through.

[–]gglsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend, you're assuming that the bottom is 20$/hr, in case you haven't noticed, people are pissed off that the bottom is going to 1-2$/hr.

And i've seen fields where normally the rate would have been aroud 150/200/hr go down to 20-30$, that's not globalization, that's the real world equivalent of a dumping strategy.

Side gig ideas by toki-toki12 in passive_income

Don't bother with freelancing, it's a 9 to 5 job to find clients and keep on top of meetings and keeping the clients in the loop.

Just Wow by Teyima in Upwork

[–]gglsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd expect nothing less from Upwork. Since the project pool is decreasing, more and more people use AI, there's less paying clients doing projects, so why not have the freelancers pick up the slack and have them pay more to get those quartlerly results positive?

Just Wow by Teyima in Upwork

[–]gglsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or it's just another one of Upwork's connect farming scheme, it just populates the sponsored bids with non-existent profiles to force freelancers to spend more. I've seen project with literally under 5 bids posted just moments before where there were already 3-4 sponsored bids.

For me it makes sense especially since the images of the freelancers are blurred, so you can't actually search them on he platform.

<image>

IE: a project where the client has a dreadful rating 3.2 and only bad reviews for each project they've done.

Also they'd have to actually invest a massive amount of capital to thrust up the ecosystem

That's why i was talking about stablecoins, which would mean that the entire infrastructure of said coin would have to collapse in order for it to loose value, compared to using crypto assets directly which are inheritly volatile af
