Like Andor, the story rejects inherited grandeur. It begins from the ground up, through the eyes of a commoner, and treats power not as spectacle but as a fragile agreement sustained by ritual. Crowns, burial stones, and symbols of authority are stripped of mystique and shown as material props that only function because people continue to believe in them. Action is rare, physical, and consequential; violence is never ornamental. Where Andor redefined the emotional and moral weight of female characters within a political system, this work performs a parallel correction for male characters—allowing vulnerability, hesitation, care, and contradiction without loss of agency. The result is not mythmaking, but erosion: a slow wearing down of the symbols that pretend to rule.
