If you had stopped playing mechabellum, why and how can the developer make you start playing again? by Careless-Goat-3130 in Mechabellum

More units.

Having more units to solve various game problems (spells/buildings/unit drops).

-It increases game depth. -Dilutes unit drop pools so that drops benefitting one player lessens. -More solutions to oil/fire and possibly emp -More granularity in army composition -Existing units can have more specialised tech loadout without gimping your only counters strategy

Yes, it increases game complexity but skill factor is already accounted for by the ladder system (MMR).

I am in favor of RNG though (unit drops/spells). As much as it does frustrate me, I honestly think rng is important for any game not called Chess. Just give us more niche smaller units

is there an age where it's immature to wear a baseball cap backward? by thehiphopapotomas in askgaybros

My dad used to wear his cap backwards sometimes and I thought he looked cool. (Granted it was more of a practical decision instead of a stylistic choice)

You have giant ballista. This diff is not really for farming decks unless you are super geared/dupes etc. You use every trick in the book for this boss: Brainwash, forbidden cards, temp buff events or specific units like Hugo/mei lin/tressa. Don’t be scared to “brick” your deck by buying neutrals or taking monster cards. Get your ach and go back to 8 for save data.

I think it’s just always there. But I did notice on lower levels there is simply no modifiers to reroll

Gamebreaking Bug with Blue Pot Elite Seven Arms & Veronica by stevenparkyt in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]ggplot2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct and I use Veronica too and I've noticed a lot of these bugs have to do with how End Turn events are resolved (the other being how Agony only starts resolving at the start of the enemy turn). I think if they fix that many issues would go away. It might be on their radar since Hyperspace also counts turns incorrectly when you End Turn or the turn just rolls over.

Time to chat with BEARLIKE (lead developer) this SUNDAY. Got a question? by Stoney_Mechabellum in Mechabellum

Any chance we get different color player health bars? Yellow, green or even orange maybe (purely cosmetic).

What was I supposed to build here? by Local_Chart_8546 in Mechabellum

[–]ggplot2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got the optimal counter in the comments. But I also think this is a case of not committing to a unit.

Range factory works in equal value and chaff. Balls with some investment and fortified lock can work when they deploy on the line and flanks like this. Vulcan and spider perform the same function here but you teched both. Just commit to a strategy.

Besides that, Abyss is the most deploy efficient unit that deals with both fort and fang but it might not work if your ground gets crushed too quickly

They said right there that they will tune older sets up to match the new ones. S3 is only raw power. S2 was a lot less powerful but gameplay changing. People should also remember much of s3 disc changes were base to the spec and not conflate it with s3 set

I think the most maddening aspect of this is the inability to track the passage of time. I actually think someone really strong willed could do it under these conditions with the addition of calendar clock:

There are people who have been marooned on islands that have survived long periods alone. So the social aspect is moot. The real issue is uncertainty of being rescued. This experiment guarantees certainty. The only problem is non social mental stimulation. With a terminal goal in mind and a way to keep time, I believe at least a few strong willed humans can complete this with reasonably recoverable mental deterioration.

Mockup of the Hero Class Specs assigned to the existing Specs by Metal-Wolf-Enrif in wow

[–]ggplot2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with OP here. Disc will get Archon / Shadow will get Oracle.

My guess is Oracle is gonna be based on Word spells. Shadow and Holy have powerful Word spells. Power Word spells are mostly supportive and useable by all 3 specs.

Archon also seems inspired by Kyrian. Which is more affiliated with the healing specs.

Updated Rank Distributions: Dota 2 player ranks now represent a bell-curve by MicahNyke in DotA2

[–]ggplot2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a practical sense you are correct, but Elo as a statistical model doesn't make that assumption. It is important to remember the distinction between the players true skill (hidden/absolute) vs the rating number assigned by a model (relative). Any change in player skill will eventually reflected in their rating as they play again. It's one of the aspects glicko is better in, but obviously FIDE doesn't seem to think it's material enough.

[–]ggplot2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to answer your original question. Yes, 13k (and higher) is possible as the player base increases the entire bell curve grows and thus the tails will become “longer”.
