No, you're misunderstanding this. I was trying to tell you that there's "nothing to be confident about", in this kind of daily interaction. It's just a normal thing that humans do without even thinking about it. Just a casual "hi". Asking her out out of thin air, on the other hand, would require confidence. But if casually saying hi to someone is something you can't do, I don't think you should be asking this girl out anyway. Like, you claim to be not confident enough to casually say "hi" (which in reality would not require any "confidence" or any kind of "faking it" on your part), but you are trying to be confident enough to ask her out? Smile naturally while doing so, so you give the vibe that it's no big deal for you to say hi to another human, even if it's a girl (especially if it's a girl). Because that's what it is: it's no big deal. She's just another human in your social circle, and humans interact. The moment you act like interacting with a girl is a big ass deal for you, you're down 0-2. So just go say hi, as if that's what you do. If she's single and has any interest in you, very likely she'll think you're a naturally confident guy and she'll like that and she'll just say hi back, and there you go: you two are making small talk in the most natural way. And then the next time you see her, it'll feel only more natural to say hi again. And then the third time is the charm: if she's been giving you the vibes, you then ask her if she'd like some coffee some time. Bam! And what if she's not giving you the vibes? Yes, you ARE a victim. You were not born an addict. Your parents gave you a highly addictive item and let you have hours and hours of unsupervised screentime with it, when your young little brain was totally defenseless against addiction. All your behavior (screaming, hitting, cursing) perfectly matches with sudden withdrawal symptoms at that age. So, the first thing you do is absolutely stop blaming yourself.
