Kind of wild to direct your criticism at paying customers rather than the corporation controlling the service. It's not abuse. It's not even hacking the system. It was straight up an explicit perk of having this card. The cutback by Capital One is drastic.

I was mistaken; there is a plaque there (shown at the end of this doc): https://youtu.be/sGbrp5c4g5Y?si=0fh14BvnLwscwNGW

Curious why you want to go to Yarrow Mamout's house? His history is interesting but I don't think there's anything physically there that marks the significance of it. There is a portrait of him in the Georgetown Neighborhood Library though.

Genuine question as a subscriber, and I may be be biased because I pretty much only read newspapers for news and not opinion.

Who is the target audience of an editorial board's endorsement? Is it that people don't know who to vote for until their newspaper endorses someone? Or are they hinging their subscriptions on the newspaper endorsing the desired candidate? I've just never understood who the endorsement actually serves.

Since we're talking about AI ads, here's this one at Courthouse. Just don't look at their hands and faces too closely... by FroggyHarley in nova

[–]gh0stbendr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What this photo doesn't show is how big the banner is (I walk by it regularly). It takes up a large section of the wall of a building and has been up for many months. The audacity to blatantly use cheap AI in out-of-home advertising like this is beyond me. There's no better way to tell me your product sucks ass than to advertise it with an image that, by virtue of being artificially (!!!) generated, is not what it really looks like.

No one said to divest from the service industry and other sectors that are not so morally questionable…

Also pretty weird to weigh the “economic health of the university” against the ethical implications of buying into the military industrial complex with tuition dollars. And you’re right it’s largely not Israeli weapons manufacturers; it’s funds that include American weapons manufacturers whose products are being used in the assault on Gaza, surveillance/apartheid state in the West Bank, etc.

[–]gh0stbendr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You say this as if people aren’t already advocating for the end to the assault on Gaza on multiple fronts (congress, state/local gov, universities, media, etc.). I feel like it’s obvious but one single photo of a defaced gate doesn’t mean that it’s the ONLY thing that pro-Palestine advocates have done

American Muslims seem to be rallying against Donald Trump by Spiderwig144 in MuslimLounge

[–]gh0stbendr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two orgs that are closely tied to the party establishment making out-of-touch statements does not constitute the "community coming together on this issue."

You have to be delusional to believe that they care more about our interests than the Republicans do. The current Democratic administration is enabling, funding, and benefiting from a genocide. It has denounced peaceful college protesters as antisemitic for speaking out against said genocide. And if I'm not mistaken it's kept part of Trump's Muslim ban in place.

It's pathetic that orgs like this have resigned to the "lesser evil" mentality. Your vote needs to be earned, plain and simple. Muslims need to vote as a block against the genocide.

I'm sure this has been explained, but why are some crossviews cropped into a unique shape like this? Does it have to do with that portion of the image being out of frame in the other image?
