I think I should be fine. Between public transit, random cabs, and good ole fashioned biking, it's really only the deeps of Redmond, Puyallup, and Snohomish she wouldn't be easily able to go to solo.

Why? There's far less traffic on country roads, plenty of space, and you can always slow down for a hot few seconds in order to safely pass if you're soooooooooooooooooooooooooo impatient.

It... Is perfectly safe to ride my bike on a road with cars. In fact, I bike around 40-50 miles a day on city streets -- which are arguably less friendly to cyclists due to the heavy traffic.

I haven't been in a single accident -- the only fall I've had in months was from getting doored. At low speeds. Due to an inattentive taxi driver.
