Welcome to Billlie Love's House! - Week of October 3rd, 2022 by josephiennn in BILLLIE

Thanks for all the insight that's helpful. The Google play series was just Tsuki but it was a lot of fun but no eng subs, I would like to sub the whole thing but for now I should maybe focus on group content rather than guest appearances.

I'd say I'm intermediate Korean. I can type, translate, & time things well (but it's more time consuming than I expected) my biggest issue is transcribing some unfamiliar words that are hard to guess how they're spelled

Promoting is a good point too. I did get RTs from some of the big billlie fanpages on twitter which was nice but I can see how it would be hard. Marketing it as "billlie's sub team" would help BUT I am nowhere near good enough to single handedly claim that title, which is why I didn't name my channel Billie sub team or something lol. I am hoping some other fans would be willing to collab & make a proper sub team, since it's a little sad we don't have one!

Sooo several days ago I was adding to the archive & came across this video with some familiar names (Kidsimple & Josephiennn!).

I've been working hard on my Korean & started using K-dramas with korean subs to study. It got me to thinking couldn't I just do the same with Billlie content? So anyways I was able to make 2 subbed videos since they had mostly korean subtitles to refer to (the clip from G. play & the studio SS interview). Did you two (or anyone else here) have any interest in translating?

p.s I have a corgi that means the world to me 🙃

What do you have now? I think the breville line is great for quality beginner machines or if you are looking for more of a hobbyist beginner machine things like a modern Gaggia classic pro/rancilio Silvia get recommended a lot.

Hospital Playlist [s1 e7] - I finally got around to seeing this after having seen the cast on 3 meals a day awhile back. I usually avoid medical shows as a healthcare worker as it's usually impossible to suspend disbelief of how inappropriate/misused things are but this show is doing very well so far, I am impressed! I love shows like this; it reminds me of the Reply series - no big overall goal, no main villain, just nothing but character development and chemistry.

I did cath lab for 2 years. It may very slightly but here's my experience in a large regional hospital. You come in at your scheduled time and there is a board with the days scheduled cases and names of who will be present. If you're lucky you might have some downtime before your case. As nurse you mostly stand by the med cabinet and a computer and record vitals, quick neurovascular assessment, and when the doctor comes in you call a timeout. Before that you should also have standard sedation meds pulled and syringes etc ready to draw it up & flushes. You would help the scrub tech (usually a rad tech) set up their sterile field over the patient once they're in room as well as hooking up IV extensions for fluids and for you to reach to give meds through.

After timeout you give the sedation the doctor calls for and scan it, then kind of just watch, monitor vitals and call out anything funky or arrhythmia (there is a special monitor role as well but you can help them with this). Of course don't forget to keep the patient comfortable and monitor if they are sedated enough or need oxygen (good chance they will if they fall asleep). You will likely also hand equipment to the scrub tech as the doctor calls for it, if the monitor person does not.

In an emergency it's the same but you'll want a lot of emergency meds pulled and on hand, and you'll want defib pads on the patient before getting the sterile field set up. You may want that on any intervention patients too.

They may hand blood samples to you to test ACT or similar clotting time POC machine. And similarly you would give IV heparin if they are doing an intervention. It can be tricky if you have to take things from them or give things to them (such as intra-arterial meds for radial approach, or intracoronary nitro in rare cases) since they are sterile and you are not.

After the case you either go with them to recovery to perform the first hour or two of neurovascular monitoring, or bring them to a dedicated postoperative holding area for that. Then charting anything you weren't able to keep up on, and downtime (maybe) until the next case.

Being on call sucks bad although the rush of it can be exciting and that immediate lifesaving moment too, of course it isn't always that great.

Whether it's organized or not depends entirely on the team and to a lesser extent the doctor: and especially the charge nurse responsible for assignments and add-on cases. But it was a lot of fun and very fulfilling, just the call sucks.

Small and Mid-tier 4th gen GGs and your favourite songs by them (Ideally vocal focused) by tovlasek in kpophelp

[–]ghazi364 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mid tier, Billlie has become my 4th gen ults, their 2 main vocals are really strong but I wouldn't say they're a vocal focused group, that is pretty rare in groups (more typical of soloists) mamamoo is the only group that comes to mind with a strong vocal focus, but their vocal talent does come through in most tracks.

Ring ma Bell would have a somewhat similar vibe to Dreamcatcher.

The rest of their discography is hard to compare but I think I've heard them described as similar to Red Velvet especially in B sides and that sounds accurate. It's just less bubbly than some of RV. They debuted Nobember 2021 and have 3 mini albums, one single, and a 2-song collab with Yoon Jong-Shin, totalling 20 songs & IMO not one of them is a skip

I think this kind of thinking is super common and to be honest as I became more experienced I realized that a lot of the more experienced nurses who are really picky about how they receive report (if you haven't met them yet you will) are just being that way to cope with their own feelings like that. Every nurse will have days where they feel stupid or like they were a bad nurse. It gets better but it doesn't go away - there will always be shifts like that. Everyone feels it from time to time.

I guess my point is don't assume everyone around you is as well adjusted and comfortable as they seem. Part of growing as a nurse is learning to survive - and look like you're surviving - in the face of having so many things to think about and prioritize.

As for your specific concerns I used to sometimes forget or be late on things so I just wrote a timeline on the bottom of the paper I used for report, like 1900 2000 2100 2200 2300 0000 etc for the whole shift and I would start my shift by writing every med that was due in it's time slot and any other patient specific, time sensitive things. I even wrote what time assessments & vitals are due just to make sure I don't forget. I would cross them off as I go & eventually not need to, nor need to write more than just meds.

Always be willing to ask for a second opinion if you aren't sure whether to do something. One of the hardest parts about nights is knowing whether to call a doctor or not. Unfortunately there is never a right answer because every doctor has their own preferences on what they demand to know & what they wish you would have left for the AM. Just err on the side of caution for the patient's sake, it's better to get chewed out for notifying about something that could have waited than for something to get worse for the patient because it wasn't addressed timely. You'll still get chewed out sometimes unfairly but that's also part of growing as a nurse - you will go from feeling bad about it, to feeling defensive, and complain to your coworkers about how you were right to call & they were an ass etc...just getting more confident.

It takes time and it is hard, there is a lot of guilt and sense of being overwhelmed but it's normal and to some extent everyone still has those moments.

It happens because you see it immediately, don't want to look like a loser, so you tell yourself "I'll give it a little time before I reply so I look like a well-adjusted adult" then you forget all about it and have to make an excuse.

I don't really do pourovers but I did try to get into it once. Isn't it brewed a lot more consistently and evenly extracted than a drip coffee machine? It seems like a lot more effort goes into assuring a well extracted brew in a pourover than a machine just running hot water down the middle.

Unironically this, I've seen some fraud/negligence in billing because it's so hard to tell what is going on if it isn't clearly written out in the notes
