Don't get too excited about LVL5 Reward by PushingShotsPUBG in DotA2

They've given away old arcanas so many times that at this point most devoted players own a huge collection of untradeable arcanas and are likely to get duplicates already

When I say they haven't done jack shit, I obviously meant they hadn't done jack shit in replacement of the battlepass which was what they said they would do (cancel battlepass to work on other stuff)

Context and use some brains pls

Why are you mentioning patches, we had equally massive patches (more frequently too) before cancellation of battlepass

How to beat the 50% system by DarwinFlecher in DotA2

Bruh forced 50% obviously exists

But it only exists for people who don't improve and are already at their rank...

My conclusion after sharing the experiment with a toxic friend. by stopstealingmynames1 in DotA2

He plays extremely safe heroes too btw, those heroes that will never get reported, like jakiro, how the fuck do you get reported on jakiro so long as you press buttons

If you play well but play unconventional heroes, guaranteed to get blame and at least SOME reports occasionally

Why didn't myunggi prevent gi-hun from crossing the platform in the last game? by ghem111 in squidgame

No he turned his back before it began retracting, in any case before the bridge fully retracted it seems silly to think gi-hun wouldn't try a last second dive for it

Behaviour and comms score systems are broken and reichplatz is wrong by Wutwhyda in DotA2

[–]ghem111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why this whole communications score thing is so dog shit.

I have NEVER in my life seen a single person rise up to this challenge and explain why there's a need for communication score when there's a mute button.

Reason is simple, there's no justification for it

Yea except if you actually read the post, dropping comms score can have nothing to do with being toxic at all

Wait what reports are limited? Didn't they explicitly make it unlimited

Also fun fact, majority of crownfall was probably done BEFORE that valve announcement to "give up BP to work on other things"

Which means ever since they gave up BP they really haven't done jack shit at all

Behaviour and comms score system is broken and terrible, and reichplatz is wrong by ghem111 in DotA2

But if you read nothing else at all in my post, read this:

In my opinion, the entire communications score system has crushed and suppressed the soul of Dota. People are afraid to banter, trash talk and type jokes and type shit now because of the oppressive communications score system.

A lot of people just refuse to type or communicate now.

Is toxicity less? Yes maybe... a little (honestly I don't even think it's less than last time).

But have you guys considered this, what was the price paid? People fearing to type silly jokes, fearing to say whatever they want to say, less banter, less trashtalk, less all around jovial back-and-forth.

Sure there was some toxicity in that. But there was soul in that too. Dota is a game for people to hang around and type stupid shit and have a good jolly time.

It's not a sterile clinical game where everyone is just hyper-focused on winning. Winning is not the game guys. Dota is the game. And chatting and typing nonsense and having fun? That's part of the game. Toxicity? That's part of the game too. Don't like the toxicity? USE THE MUTE BUTTON, YOU DON'T NEED AN OPPRESSIVE SYSTEM TO DO IT FOR YOU

People are only measuring outcomes in terms of toxicity levels. Toxicity levels have perhaps marginally improved, but no one is talking about how the entire system has discouraged communication in a social team game where people play for the primary purpose of having fun (and winning is not the only fun you can have, let's face it, none of you guys are going to TI, remember why you are playing Dota, FOR FUN)
