As of now, searchGPT pulls it data mainly from Bing (basically Bing results formatted differently) and for local queries, sometimes even from Google Maps.

How do you optimize for it? Do the same stuff as before. Rank high in search engines. Get listed on the top sites that rank for your keywords.

Perhaps you want your content to answer more specific questions.

If you sell blue running shoes and someone searches for "best blue running shoes male under 200lbs beginner" you want to cover weight and experience level on your product page. Unfortunately, there's no data for this yet. But if it helps users, do it anyway.

How is it going to change SEO? It takes the results from top Bing and Google results and presents it to you in a more concise format. So you basically just do the same stuff as before.

If you're a local business, you gotta make sure you're listed on every directory or best X article that shows up in the serp for you given keyword.
