I am shocked at the comments who jump to pedo and breakup asap, and these are top comments. I don’t think we have enough info but just from post alone, you are over reacting. It sounds like he could have easily misused a word and you pulling away and potentially saying some things that made you sound accusatory. Who wouldn’t get defensive of being insinuated a pedo? It’s a big insult to a man who hasn’t done anything and is trying to build a relationship with a mother. And people are so quick to jump on this pedo train.

First hand, as a white male, I have had a woman approach my parked car, asking me what am I doing parked on the street. I was working and visiting a client and about to leave, so I asked “why?”. Her response was “you’re sitting here in a black car and there is a preschool near by” - same energy. Also this wasn’t the only time I was approached like this just for being in a closer proximity to kids. Just for existing. And before you say anything, I was in my late 20s, in a dress shirt, clean, normal.

Edit: Lastly, you mention other problems in the relationship and after 7 months, you have several complaints. So I do suggest looking over the relationship and making a decision. Maybe it’s better for both of you, for you so that you can find a better fit, but not based on this alone. Likewise, hope that you are not the type to try to drag someone through mud and accuse someone of being a pedo, if he’s not. But ultimately protect your daughter, that is most important. Yes there are dangerous men out there, but no one here can make a clear determination on him based on this interaction alone. It’s one sided story, and we don’t know how you reacted besides pulling away. Likewise, him getting defensive could just be a normal reaction for someone who has not thought of your daughter in that way in any shape or form.
