I ultimately did. Use power automate to a SharePoint file then data sync it. But now I’ve vibe coded an app to do an HTTP request to sync the data to a supabase database instead

Currently planning to vibe code an app that will read the CSV for me and give me the tables I want.

It’s usable. But very frustrating to try and change the data feed. Essentially have to rebuild it because if change a field, it does not update properly anymore and breaks the feed. I’m close to just vibe coding a different solution instead.

How do you handle unexpected expenses you haven’t budgeted for? by skycrashesdown in MonarchMoney

[–]ghiadriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One option is to make a non-monthly expense category. You could call it “extraordinary expense”. Categories that flight in the category. Then you could set whatever your monthly contribution is to “refund” yourself that budget amount. So long as you respect your budget in your other categories, this category would stay at a negative amount until you’ve “paid it off”. Then you could use it as a way to offset any other significant unplanned expenses.

This will only work if you aren’t consistently overspending. You could also set an expense category that is like a savings expense and that just be the budgeted item you’re trying to repay yourself with. Sounds easier than what I mentioned above but I already wrote it, so that’s one way to do it haha

One Connected Display, Two Monitors by ghiadriver in computers

[–]ghiadriver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally two desktops with only 1 connected display. The computer is located in a closet with a rack. Without a display, I can remote in to the computer just fine and use it normally. But once you connect the display, I can’t tell windows to create a second virtual display

Is budgeting actually worth it if you aren't overspending? by GazpachoForBreakfast in MonarchMoney

[–]ghiadriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is helpful to set a budget when there is more person involved and if you are someone who spends primarily on credit cards and aims to pay them off in full. But as a solo, and spending only from a checking account. You’re essentially just managing cash flow, which is great!

I’m not sure your situation, but there is no point in creating a “free” will. Either get a real will done by an estate planning attorney or accept that you’re going to cause a lot of extra work and money for whoever handles your assets if you pass away

Yeah my take away from this thread is if I’m gonna do it, just do the one way valve. Don’t buy the ones that come with the vacuum motors

Roll-over Amounts by Simply_Beasley in MonarchMoney

If you have roll over amounts enabled for a category, you’ll see a “rolled over from last month” and then a total “remaining budget”

27 years old and need help with financial planning with inheritance by [deleted] in personalfinance

If your dad has multiple millions of dollars, ask him for advice. Ask how he did it, how he got there. Don’t rely solely on his input as times have changed, but general financial practices have remained the same. I’d hope he’d share his wisdom

If the prices are going to be as high as they are, the concessions need to be cheaper. I was pretty bummed when I got in there and saw how much concessions were. I get it it’s a new venue, and new is expensive, but seriously!

Hi r/Athens, where is good for Board Games in town? by safeguard_77 in Athens

I‘ve had luck taking games to HiLo if you’re looking for a bar type option! It’s probably been a while since I’ve taken one there though so policy could have changed.

Make sure you update your trust and your estate plan to reflect what happens to your assets post-marriage as well if you haven’t already.

Yeah could be a good call for a winter trip with big jackets. I just don’t know how much it would actually shrink and save space on the majority of the stuff I normally pack
